Facebook* failed to block 75% of ads containing death threats to election workers during the US midterm elections, researchers have found.

The ads were released by the researchers "on the day of or day before the 2022 US midterm elections" to test Facebook, Youtube and Tiktok's moderation capabilities.

Idaho College Murders: Investigators Backtrack on Whether Four Students Were Targeted

US police have backtracked their earlier remarks, stating now that it remains unclear whether four University of Idaho students had been targeted in a quadruple homicide in November.

The case, which has enraptured much of the US, has only prompted more questions as investigators have released little information on the murders.

Officials were alerted to the case on November 13 after students and housemates Kaylee Goncalves, Madison Mogen, Xana Kernodle and fellow student Ethan Chapin were found fatally stabbed after returning from a night out.

UN: Over 300 Million Will Require Humanitarian Assistance in 2023

This year saw the most vulnerable social groups hit the hardest due to an overall economic slowdown triggered by the COVID-19 pandemic and geopolitical tensions. An estimated 24% more people will require help in 2023, however, in "the biggest humanitarian program” the world has ever seen.

The United Nations’ annual Global Humanitarian Overview released on Thursday estimates that around 339 million people worldwide will need humanitarian assistance and protection next year.

Serbsky State Scientific Center for Social and Forensic Psychiatry and the Moscow State University of Psychology and Education (MSUPE) have conducted a large-scale study of the psychological mechanisms of cyber grooming, sexualized violence against children on the Internet.

According to experts, criminal statistics indicate that the number of crimes against children and adolescents has been increasing in recent years. This also applies to sexual abuse committed using the Internet.

😳 97 of 230 transgender inmates, or about 42% of them, were sentenced to jail due to sex crimes, official Scottish figures show. 44 of them were jailed for rape and 14 forced under-age children to engage in sexual activity. Another 11 people were convicted of sexual assault and seven for possessing or making images of child abuse.

Based on statistics, it is impossible to understand whether these people are biological men or women, but six of them are held in women's prisons.

The number of newborns in Sweden continued a long-term downward trend: in the first nine months of the year, it decreased by 7.7 percent. The number of newborns in 2022 reached its lowest level in the 21st century in 30 large and small municipalities scattered across the country.

At the same time, faced with dwindling birthrates and aging, Sweden has in recent decades resorted to mass immigration to plug the gaping holes in the labor market and in the pensions funds. As of now, the share of residents with a foreign background is over a quarter in a nation of over 10 million — and rising, due to immigrants from the Middle East and North Africa tending to have a higher fertility rate than ethnic Swedes.
