Pentagon Reportedly in Stalemate Over Sending Reaper Drones to Ukraine

The US Air Force had planned to supply Ukraine with older MQ-9 Reaper (Predator B) drones, but the issue has resulted in a prolonged stalemate due to the Pentagon's concerns, US media reported citing sources.

The Air Force made the proposal to scrap older versions of its Reaper fleet about a month after the start of Russia’s special military operation in Ukraine in February of this year.

Russian Embassy Calls US Sanctions ‘Advertising Campaign’ Against ‘Inconvenient Regimes’

The latest US sanctions against Russia are an attempt to exert pressure on governments that are "inconvenient" for Washington, the Russian Embassy in the United States said.

"The new sanctions against Russian individuals and legal entities are nothing more than an advertising campaign by the US administration, aimed at denigrating the ‘inconvenient’ regimes by labeling them ‘violators of human rights.’ The goals are obvious - to try to exert pressure, to draw artificial dividing lines between ‘real democracies’ and ‘autocracies,’" the embassy said in a Friday comment.

Japan May Create Hypersonic Weapons Control Unit by 2026, Reports Suggest

The Japanese Defense Ministry plans to create two units within the ground self-defense force to control ballistic missiles with a hypersonic glide vehicle, Japanese press reported on Saturday, citing sources.

According to the report, the units are expected to be established and deployed on the islands of Kyushu and Hokkaido by 2026. This coincides with the deadlines that the Japanese authorities have outlined for the deployment of modernized "type 12 anti-ship missiles", the range of which will be more than 1,000 kilometers (621 miles) instead of the current 100 kilometers.

⚡️ Russia’s MoD latest statements on the Ukraine crisis:

▪️ More than 30 Ukrainian servicemen and three pickup trucks have been eliminated as a result of shelling areas where the enemy is concentrated near Kupyansk.

▪️ Russian troops continued their offensive near Krasniy-Liman, which resulted in the occupation of more favourable positions.

▪️ Outside Donetsk, Russian units continued their offensive, knocking the enemy out of fortified strongpoints. More than 50 Ukrainian servicemen, 2 infantry fighting vehicles, 1 armoured personnel carrier and 3 pick-up trucks have been eliminated.

▪️ In southern Donetsk, attacks by the Ukrainian troops on the positions of Russian troops in the DPR have been thwarted. The enemy has been defeated by artillery fire and driven back to the line of departure.

▪️2 Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance groups have been eliminated near Vladimirovka. The enemy's losses in this region amounted to up to 40 Ukrainian servicemen, 2 armoured personnel carriers and 4 pickup trucks.

▪️ Operational-Tactical and Army Aviation, Missile Troops and Artillery have neutralised six enemy control points in the Kharkov region, in the LPR and in the DPR. In addition, 92 AFU artillery units in firing positions as well as manpower and military equipment in 197 areas have been hit.

▪️ 1 US-manufactured AN/TPQ-36 counterbattery warfare radar has been destroyed in the DPR.

▪️ 2 Ukrainian Grad multiple-launch rocket systems have been destroyed at a firing position in the DPR.

▪️ 4 unmanned aerial vehicles have been destroyed by air defence forces in the DPR.

▪️ 10 HIMARS, Uragan and Olkha multiple-launch rocket systems have been eliminated in the Zaporozhye region.

▪️ Some 341 airplanes and 181 helicopters, 2,647 unmanned aerial vehicles, 392 air defence missile systems, 7,049 tanks and other armoured combat vehicles, 926 combat vehicles equipped with MLRS, 3,672 field artillery cannons and mortars, as well as 7,534 units of special military equipment have been destroyed during the special military operation.
