German Military Experiencing Technical Issues With Puma Fighting Vehicles, Reports Say

The German Armed Forces, the Bundeswehr, detected multiple technical issues with the Puma infantry fighting vehicles (IFV), German press reported on Sunday, citing a letter by an army commander Ruprecht von Butler.

Puma IFVs were to be used by the NATO Response Force, according to the newspaper. However, a shooting and combat test showed that all 18 Pumas deployed were not combat-ready, the report said. The electronics of high-tech vehicles proved to be especially vulnerable, the letter read.

"Of the 18 [Puma] infantry fighting vehicles the unit began service with, during the last eight days of training, the readiness dropped to 0 infantry fighting vehicles," the letter said, according to the report.

Gravity Makes You Age Slower, Scientists Argue

One of the implications of general relativity theory means that time runs faster in places with low gravity and slower in places with high gravity. Scientists have claimed that gravity slows time and makes you age slower.

"Gravity makes us age slower, in a relative term. Compared to someone not near any massive object, we are aging more slowly by a very tiny amount. In fact, for that someone, the whole world around us evolves more slowly under the effect of gravity," stated James Chin-wen Chou from the National Institute of Standards and Technology, Colorado.

US Teacher Allegedly Forced to Resign After Rejecting Students' 'Preferred Pronouns'

A former Ohio school teacher has filed a lawsuit over the circumstances of her resignation. Vivian Geraghty, who resigned in August, claims that she quit her job after two students asked her to use names aligned “with their new gender identities rather than their legal names.”

As the students’ request was apparently in line with the school’s policy that stipulates teachers use students’ preferred pronouns, Geraghty, who describes herself as Christian, reached out to the principal in a bid to reach “a solution that would allow her to continue teaching without violating her religious beliefs and constitutional rights.”

Two Deep Space Super-Earths Might Be Mostly Water

A team of researchers from the University of Montreal led by Caroline Piaulet has found evidence that two exoplanets orbiting a red dwarf may be "water worlds" - planets with a significant portion of their material made up of H20.

The exoplanets are 218 light years away in the Lyra constellation and do not resemble any of the planets in our solar system.

Spielberg Regrets 'Decimation' of Sharks After Jaws

Spielberg's hit movie Jaws is often criticized by eco-activists for misrepresenting sharks as vengeful and cruel creatures.

Acclaimed film director Steven Spielberg stated that he is afraid that sharks are “mad” at him “for the feeding frenzy of crazy sports fishermen that happened after 1975," when Jaws came out.

"I truly and to this day regret the decimation of the shark population because of the book and the film. I really, truly regret that," Spielberg added.
