🇰🇵 North Korea's short-range ballistic missiles flew 620 kilometers (385 miles) and fell in the Sea of Japan, a South Korean news agency reported citing the country's Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS).

▪️ Earlier Tuesday, the news agency reported that North Korea fired two short-range ballistic missiles toward the Sea of Japan.

💬 "We strongly condemn the North's series of ballistic missile launches as an act of significant provocation that harms peace and stability not only on the Korean Peninsula, but also in the international community, and a clear violation of U.N. Security Council resolutions," the South Korean JCS said in a text message sent to reporters.

▪️ The ballistic missile launch was North Korea's fifth this year.

🦠🌍 World Health Organization (WHO) Director General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said he hopes the coronavirus pandemic will end in 2023, according to a statement on the WHO website.

🗣 "The weekly number of reported deaths is now lower than when we first used the word 'pandemic' three years ago. The improvement is significant. I am confident that at some point this year we will be able to say that COVID-19 is over as a public health emergency of international concern – and as a pandemic," Ghebreyesus said.

▪️ He said everyone must learn the pandemic's lessons.

📹 Russia starts testing its new TrUMP ("Transport Aviation Multifunctional Platform") heavy drone

▪️ According to Sputnik's source, the unmanned aerial vehicle’s developers are due to check the drone’s systems and control mechanisms during the tests, which are conducted ahead of the UAV’s maiden flight, slated for April.

📊 The number of working days lost in the United Kingdom because of strikes during January was 220,000, the UK Office for National Statistics (ONS) said on Tuesday.

💬 "There were 220,000 working days lost because of labour disputes in January 2023, down from 822,000 in December 2022," the ONS said in a statement.

At the same time, the unemployment rate in the UK reached 3.7% in the November 2022-January 2023 period, the statement added.

📈 "Growth in average total pay (including bonuses) was 5.7% and growth in regular pay (excluding bonuses) was 6.5% among employees in November 2022 to January 2023," the statement noted.
