✍️ Democratic Governor Gavin Newsom, who violated COVID restrictions by meeting with lobbyists at a private party, could be removed from office if voters vote against keeping him as governor.

Under California state law, residents have the right to recall an elected governor if they find his performance in office unsatisfactory. If a majority of people vote to expel Newsom, the new candidate with the most votes will replace him for the remainder of his term, which ends in 2023. If not, Newsom keeps his post.

👊 Not everyone is ready to support the political career of a family member. That's certainly the case with Caitlyn Jenner, whose family seems disappointed with her decision to run for governor of California.

The sons of the 71-year-old socialite and TV personality, Burt, Brandon and Brody Jenner, ostensibly “don't feel she's qualified for the position”. They are reportedly “upset she never took the family’s feelings into consideration”, and had decided for herself long before she asked her loved ones.

Another part of the same extended family – the Kardashians – are also not happy with Caitlyn's political aspirations, as Kim, the daughter of Caitlyn's ex-wife Kris, has already made it clear that they have very different views.

This political career!

💸 Will taxes ever stop rising?

Stocks tumbled last week, following the emergence of a report suggesting US President Joe Biden would set forth a new capital gains hike targeting wealthier US taxpayers. Republicans, and even some Democrats, have argued that such a move is too radical, and could have negative ramifications on the US economy

👮‍♂️ The NYPD is going through a tough time, all because of a wave of protests against police violence and racism.

According to the New York Post, citing department records, more than 5,300 NYPD uniformed officers retired or placed in their papers to resign in 2020, a 75% increase from the previous year.

Police officers being demonized and vilified as racists is behind the rise in departures from the department in New York City, according to a 22-year veteran of the NYPD. Unfortunately, police officers are not only strongly criticized but sometimes are even physically attacked.
