“The Biden-Harris Administration has made elevating the Quad a priority, as seen through the first-ever Quad Leaders-level engagement in March, which was virtual, and now this summit, which will be in-person. Hosting the leaders of the Quad demonstrates the Biden-Harris Administration’s priority of engaging in the Indo-Pacific, including through new multilateral configurations to meet the challenges of the 21st century," the White House statement said.

⚡️'Multiple injuries' reported in shooting at Virginia High School

"Police are on scene of a shooting at Heritage High School," Newport Police Department said in a statement.

"Students are being evacuated and sent to the tennis courts. Parents can meet them there."

US Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas is heading to Texas on Monday to oversee the removal of mostly Haitian migrants from a sprawling makeshift camp they set up after wading across the Rio Grande from Mexico. According to a statement from his office, Mayorkas will meet with local officials and hold a news conference.

❗️WAVY, a local news outlet in Norfolk, Virginia, reported that two people had been rushed to hospital with gunshot wounds after an altercation at Heritage High School in the city of Newport News, Virginia, although the wounds were not thought to be life-threatening.

Police haven't released information about how many suspects there are or their identity, but they dismissed reports of active shooters on the school campus.
