Here are the main highlights of the Ambassador Ilya Rogachev's speech at the event called "Russia-Ukraine Conflict – South Africa’s non-alignment Approach to Peace and Security", that took place on June 28:
🔺 For decades, Russia has warned the West that Ukraine's status as a NATO member or NATO's use of Ukrainian territory is absolutely unacceptable to Russia as it constitutes a direct threat to its national security;
🔺Unilateral sanctions unlawfully imposed by the West against Russia, complicating payment transactions and insurance procedures, disrupting logistics, and ultimately leading to human suffering;
🔺During the COVID-19 pandemic, Western states have printed billions of dollars, euros, yen, etc., not backed by any goods produced or services provided, which has led to price increases in the commodity markets long before the special military operation in Ukraine

Russian Foreign Ministry condemns Quran burning in Sweden
There may be catastrophic consequences if incidents such as the recent burning of a Quran in Sweden go unpunished, the special representative of the Russian Foreign Affairs Ministry on cooperation in the field of observance of the right to freedom of religion, Gennady Askoldovich, has warned.
He called on the international community to denounce similar violations of religious rights and to prevent the rise of religious radicalism.

A new Gallup poll found that only 39% of US adults say they are “extremely proud” of their nationality - that’s up just 1% from last year’s record low of 38%.
Meanwhile, 28% reported being “very proud” of being American while 22% noted being “moderately proud,” and just 7% said they were “only a little” proud. Another 4% of respondents admitted they weren't proud “at all” of their US citizenship.

Taiwan's request includes 30mm high-explosive incendiary tracer rounds, multi-function ammunition and training rounds, spare parts for wheeled vehicles, weapons and other related equipment.
The DSCA said the proposed sale aims to "support the foreign policy and national security objectives of the US" and added that the sale will "not alter the basic military balance in the region."
