Poland received a proper response to its grievances over the comments Russian President Vladimir Putin made on Friday, Russian Ambassador to Warsaw Sergey Andreev told Sputnik

Andreev said that he spoke to Polish Deputy Foreign Minister Pawel Jablonski, who "laid out the grievances of the Polish side about what our president said yesterday at a meeting with members of the Security Council."

On Saturday, Andreev was summoned to the Polish Foreign Ministry after Putin told a meeting of the Security Council that Poland's Western allies in 1939 left the country at the mercy of Germany. At the time, Poland practically lost its independence and statehood, which it regained to a great extent thanks to the Soviet Union. Putin noted that thanks to the Soviet Union, thanks to Stalin's position, Poland gained significant lands in the West, which once belonged to Germany.

Sweden's membership in NATO could be approved by the Foreign Affairs Commission of the parliament as a declaration of intent, Turkish media reported. However, the intensification of rapprochement between Turkiye and the EU depended not so much on Sweden, but on Germany and France.

Germany and France support Sweden joining NATO with the United States pushing for it, and will readily satisfy some of Turkiye's requests, the newspaper said. However, if Turkiye does not allow Sweden to join, these two countries will take steps so that Sweden could join as soon as possible, the report said.

🇩🇪 German Eurosceptic conservative party Alternative for Germany (AfD) has recorded record high support rate this week at 22%, a poll conducted by the Institute for New Social Answers showed.

This puts the party in the second place after the opposition bloc, consisting of the Christian Democratic Union of Germany and the Christian Social Union in Bavaria parties, which gained 26%, the survey has found.
