75 billion is going to be the new number average over the next ten years... Why are we spending this money? We have to 'keep up with the Russians,' so to speak. And now there are people in Congress and in the military saying, 'Well, we have to be able to take out all the Chinese targets as well as all the Russian targets.' So we have sort of perceived increased demand for nuclear weapons,Greg Mello, nuclear weapons expert and Executive Director of the Los Alamos Study Group, told Sputnik.

Around 20,000 foreign militants signed up, with over 3,000 being US citizens. The actual number of casualties among these militants is downplayed by Ukrainian and Western authorities.
