Dedollarization is happening at a steady rate within BRICS and in the global economy, although more work needs to be done to accelerate the process, Michael Goddard, the president of the Netley Group, told Sputnik

"The harder part" in efforts to replace the dollar lies in the reserve aspect of the currency, the Netley Group president noted. For instance, the United States' big advantage at the moment is the breadth of its bond market, Goddard explained.

"One of the ways, I think, BRICS could develop something to compete with that would be the technology to actually link the BRICS bond markets," the entrepreneur added.

Asian businesses could be able to fill the void left by Western companies in Russia's market since the interest of this region in Russia is big, Michael Goddard, the president of the Netley Group, told Sputnik

The entrepreneur also expressed hope that Russia and its partners in Asia would find new ways to facilitate investment flows.

"There will be very soon new ways to move capital in and out of Russia or in and out of anywhere. I believe a lot of that will come to the digital ruble, digital yuan that will enable people to move money. Plus, there will be an analogue of SWIFT which they are already working on. And between all of these things, they will be able to move money in and out of Russia," Goddard added.

🇷🇺🇺🇸 The Congress of Russian Americans (CRA) has fought Russophobia throughout its 50-year existence by opposing closures of parks and demolition of monuments linked to Russian heritage

Most recently, Aleuts in Sitka, Alaska, wanted to completely remove the Baranov statue - representing Alexander Baranov, who governed the territories of Russian America from 1799-1819. CRA President Natalie Sabelnik expressed concern with that demand to destroy the statue as a Russophobic act.

The CRA president emphasized that Russophobia remains a part of life in the United States just as intolerance against other minorities - African, Asian or Jewish Americans - also exists. "Yes, a lot of progress has been made, but it still prevails in the United States. It is still something that I am not sure will ever go away," she said.

Have you heard about the mysterious new arms based on "new physical principles"?

Russian President Vladimir Putin has mentioned that such types of weapons are being developed.

🤔 What does Putin mean?

These weapons are said to include:

▪️ Directed energy weapons;
▪️ Electromagnetic weapons;
▪️ Non-lethal weapons;
▪️ Geophysical weapons;
▪️ Radiological weapons;
▪️ Bioweapons.

Veteran Russian military observer Viktor Murakhovsky told Sputnik that Putin's comments probably referred to lasers and other high-energy physics-based weapons.

💬 "The advantage of laser weapons is clear: they destroy their target instantly. But the disadvantages, especially in field applications, are very great. It's necessary, in effect, to build a separate electrical generator for ground-based systems," he said.

🗣️ On the ineffectiveness of anti-Russian sanctions:

"The assumption in the West was that it [Russia] did not have a high tech base. So as was said by the German foreign minister, I believe, Russia would be scrounging washing machines imported from Germany to get the chips for its military capacity. These kinds of absurdities were part of the mythology, and Russia's high tech capacities were clearly constantly neglected and discounted... This was going to "be it". This was somehow so dramatic, it would decisively end the conflict. Yeah, completely naive," Jeffrey Sachs, a Columbia University economist, told Sputnik.
