🗣️ On the possibilities of building a modern arms industry in Ukraine:

The notion that Ukraine is building a modern weapons industry capable of producing export-quality munitions that will flow out of Ukraine is absurd. A) Any weapon that's produced by Ukraine will be used by Ukraine. B) Ukraine isn't producing weapons anymore because Russia has blown up all the factories that do that... This is fan fiction, I would say, designed to create the theory of a post-conflict Ukraine that can turn its experience in war into something that benefits the rest of the world,Scott Ritter, former UN weapons inspector in Iraq, told Sputnik.

Arms sent to Ukraine potentially used against Israel, DPR Government Adviser says

Weapon supplies to Kiev may have come back to bite Ukraine’s donors as they potentially fall into the hands of groups around the globe.

🗣 "It is quite bizarre that it was Israel, along with its NATO counterparts, that recently supplied all kinds of arms to Ukraine. Some of the military aid ended up being resold (...) by Ukraine’s military personnel and army officials. The great number of it was resold in a completely unmonitored way. Ironically, Israeli soldiers are now being shot with their own guns and weapons, transferred to Ukraine by NATO," alleged Gagin.

🇪🇨 Ecuador presidential candidate assassination suspects die mysteriously, prompting mass firings

The discharge occurred a week before the presidential run-off in Ecuador. The first round was hit by violence, which the government says is the work of drug gangs.

Ecuador’s President Guillermo Lasso has fired the police and prison chiefs after seven suspects in the assassination of presidential candidate Fernando Villavicencio died behind bars in mysterious circumstances earlier this week.

The six inmates were killed at the Litoral Penitentiary on Friday, while another died in a Quito prison on Saturday. A Spanish newspaper cited a National Service of Integral Attention to Persons Deprived of Liberty (SNAI) report as saying that the victims did “not present signs of torture or wounds resulting from a struggle.”

Ukrainian MANPADS vs US destroyers: how Israel-Hamas war may spiral into broader conflict

International observers believe Hamas militants were provided weapons by external forces. Ian Gagin, advisor to the head of the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR), previously suggested that weapons transferred to Ukraine could be used against Israel.

"Yes, this is quite possible, since the weapons received by the Kiev regime come from different sources," Boris Dolgov, doctoral candidate and senior researcher at the Center for Arabic and Islamic Studies of the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS), told Sputnik. "Even if it comes from the United States and the European Union, it can be forwarded to those forces that are now fighting against Israel: according to various sources, there are foreign mercenaries from Arab countries in the territory controlled by the Kiev regime."

🇵🇱🇮🇱 Polish President Andrzej Duda said on Sunday that he offered Israeli President Isaac Herzog humanitarian assistance and urged not to "overestimate the seriousness" of the situation in Israel.

At the same time, the Polish leader urged not to "overestimate the seriousness" of the situation in Israel, saying that it is not the first military conflict in the Middle East over recent decades.

"I would not exaggerate [the seriousness]. This is not the first military situation in the Middle East. We remember that in recent decades such situations have already taken place. The wars that had been waged there did not result in any world wars, so I would not go that far," Duda added.

In response, Tel Aviv started Operation Swords of Iron. According to some estimates, the hostilities have already claimed the lives of 300 Israelis and 232 Palestinians.

So what's behind the latest escalation?
