Journalists in the Gaza Strip continue their work despite frequent interruptions in the network, Internet and electricity access, which prevent the rapid transfer of information. At the same time, journalists are often targets of Israeli airstrikes, as are their family members. Mahmoud Mazloum, a producer and reporter for the "Palestine" channel in the Gaza Strip, told Sputnik.

"For example, my colleague, a correspondent for our TV channel, Muhammad Abu Khattab, was killed along with his family members 15 minutes after the end of his live broadcast. He finished his broadcast, entered the house, and the building was hit. He lived near Nasser Hospital in Khan Yunis City."

The most difficult thing for journalists in Gaza is to continue normal operations under the conditions of a total blockade, said Mahmoud Mazloum, producer and reporter for the ‘Palestine’ channel in the Gaza Strip.

They have to band together to at least charge their cell phones from the remaining available power sources, including car engines.

"We don't even work most of the day. We wait for the phones to charge a little so we can do our work. Also, the network is not always available - sometimes we have to wait for hours for it to be restored".

China's development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to run space platforms and satellites is going to be "a real game changer" in terms of operating military capabilities in space, US Space Force Chief Technology and Innovation Officer Lisa Costas said.

China has spent $14.7 billion on AI this year and that figure is projected to almost double to $26 billion by 2026, Costas said.

"The People's Liberation Army (PLA) argues the need for AI to support and protect China's space assets ...In April they allowed AI to take over one of the cameras on a satellite ... It looked at an area between Japan and China where there were (US) aircraft carriers and between India and China where there had been border skirmishes," Costas said.

A ceasefire in Gaza depends on the United States as it "fully controls" the Middle East conflict, Hamas Political Bureau member Mousa Abu Marzouq said on Thursday.

"The ceasefire depends on the US. The US is the main supporter of Israel: American drones are in the skies over Gaza, military ships are off the Palestinian coast. They supply both arms and money. They also provide political cover for the process. All the states in the region are under pressure to save Israel. That is why the ceasefire depends on the US. If the US administration wanted the ceasefire, it would have been reached by now," Marzouq said in an interview with Turkish newspaper.
