⛴ The fleet, consisting of the Admiral Tributs, a large anti-submarine ship, and the Pechenga, a medium sea tanker, received a warm welcome at the main base of the Eastern Fleet of the Indian Navy.

A solemn welcoming ceremony was held to honor the arrival of these Russian naval vessels.

The visit, which is a part of the fleet long-range sea campaign across the Asia-Pacific region, is scheduled to last until the 20 November and will include a series of protocol, cultural, and sporting events.

At least 42 journalists and media workers have been killed in Gaza and Israel since October 7, according to the Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ).

Among the dead were 37 Palestinians, four Israelis, and one Lebanese, according to the committee. Nine other media workers were injured, three journalists were reported missing, and 13 people were arrested.

The organization is also investigating "numerous unconfirmed reports" of other journalists killed, missing, detained, injured or threatened, as well as damage to media offices and staff homes.

❗️ About 200 people were killed in an Israeli strike on the Al-Fakhura school in the Gaza Strip, Al Jazeera reports,

This is not the first such attack by the IDF. In early November, at least 12 people were killed and more than 50 were injured in an attack on the Al-Fakhura school.

The conflict in Ukraine and the escalation of the Palestine-Israel conflict have not been mentioned in the final declaration of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit that wrapped up in San Francisco, California on Friday.

An APEC chair’s statement, in turn, noted that some leaders objected to the inclusion of Ukraine- and Gaza-related issues in the document “on the basis that they do not believe that APEC is a forum to discuss geopolitical issues.”

🇺🇸 The second attempt to launch the StarShip Super Heavy rocket also failed.

The first stage exploded in mid-air after separating from the rocket, SpaceX said. Operators lost contact with the ship about ten minutes into the flight.

The spacecraft had previously launched from Texas. The plan was for the ship to orbit the Earth and then fall into the Pacific Ocean near the Hawaiian Islands.

The first test flight of the super-heavy rocket took place on April 20. The spacecraft was deliberately blown up during the test flight after it began to lose altitude when multiple engines failed.

🇦🇲🇦🇿 Armenia has negotiated the basic principles of a future peace agreement with Azerbaijan, but Baku has not yet confirmed its commitment to the three principles proposed by Yerevan, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said on Saturday.

This happened as a result of my meetings in Brussels with Azerbaijani President [Ilham Aliyev] mediated by European Council President Charles Michel," Pashinyan said, adding that the agreements were recorded in Michel's statements on the results of the trilateral meetings in May and July.

At the same time, the Armenian prime minister also said that Yerevan and Baku were speaking different "diplomatic" languages and "often faced misunderstanding" because of a protracted conflict, thousands of victims and an atmosphere of "decades-long hatred."

🇺🇸 A US military base in the occupied part of northeastern Syria came under a drone attack that injured a service member, media reported Saturday.

The base is located in Tel Baidar in the eastern Syrian province of Hasaka, Beirut-based Al Mayadeen reported.

The United States has set up 24 military bases and four outposts in Syria despite protests from the Syrian government.

US military installations in Syria and Iraq have been attacked on more than a single occasion following the escalation of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict last month.
