🇺🇸🛥🕵️ The US navy has launched an investigation into a petroleum leak that contaminated the water system servicing Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickman, Pentagon says.

Last week, the navy said petroleum from a fuel reservoir leaked into a water well that serves the navy water system on the base, which required more than 700 military families to be housed in hotels.

The Coast Guard airlifted a woman's corpse from her vehicle, which was balancing on the edge of Niagara Falls on Wednesday.

A Coast Guard officer was able to descend from a helicopter south of the car on a cable, broke the passenger side door of the motorist with an ax and grabbed the lifeless body from the car, lifting it into the helicopter.

Her death was later confirmed by the United States Coast Guard in the Great Lakes region

Mitch McConnell just folded on the Debt Ceiling, a total victory for the Democrats—didn’t use it to kill the $5 Trillion Dollar (real number!) The Old Crow’s two-month extension, and the break up of the Bill into two parts, gave the Democrats everything they needed. 🖋 Former Trump White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows filed a lawsuit Wednesday seeking to invalidate the subpoenas issued by the House select committee examining the Jan. 6 Capitol riot. The suit describes the subpoenas for documents and testimony issued to Meadows in September as “overly broad and unduly burdensome”.

The key issue in the filing is the committee’s bid to obtain cell phone records from Meadows and “a third-party telecommunications company,” records which Meadows argues the panel “lacks lawful authority to seek and to obtain.”

❓ The committee had no immediate response to the Meadows lawsuit. Will they now move forward with contempt proceedings?
