Georgia’s efforts to protect itself from foreign meddling cause US outrage The United States’ anger over the new foreign agents law recently adopted in Georgia stems from the fact that non-government organizations and media currently remain the only regime…
⚡️Georgia’s Parliament Speaker signed the much-talked-about and adopted law on foreign agents thereby overturning the president’s veto.

Now, the Georgian Ministry of Justice and the national Public Registry Agency must create a list of organizations acting in foreign interests within 60 days.

After the register is introduced, all non-governmental organizations and media outlets that receive more than 20% of their income from other states will be required to register in it.

The law was adopted amid street protests that have persisted for several weeks, as well as statements from Western leaders warning of a reevaluation of relations with Tbilisi.

Ukrainian field commanders 'waste a lot of time' on basic training of recruits

Ukrainian field commanders are bracing for an influx of poorly trained recruits to be drafted under a new connoscription law, the Washington Post reported.

The commanders complained that they used to spend weeks teaching new recruits basic skills, such as how to shoot, because most of them were poorly trained.

"We had guys who didn't even know how to take a rifle apart and put it back together," an assistant battalion commander with the call sign Schmidt told WaPo.

He added that commanders are "wasting a lot of time here [at the front] on basic training" of "new infantry" to avoid the looming scenario of connoscripts being sent to the battlefield "just to die."

In April, Volodymyr Zelensky signed a new mobilization law that lowered the draft age from 27 to 25, expanded the powers of draft officials, and introduced penalties for draft dodgers, including fines of up to $640.

Tens of thousands of Ukrainian men are expected to be drafted under the document, which has been in effect since May 18.

Russian forces to get upgraded, beefed-up protective Obereg body armor

The Russian Armed Forces are set to receive upgraded Obereg (lit. "Amulet") body armor with an increased protection area of over 50%, as announced by the Rostec press service on Monday.

This new body armor has a BR-4 protection class capable of stopping armor-piercing bullets with heat-strengthened cores from cartridges used in automatic weapons, specifically 7.62mm x 39mm and 5.45mm x 39mm calibers.

The basis of the protective elements are bulletproof ceramic armor plates. The equipment also contains packages of aramid fiber that protect against shrapnel.

The armor is designed to remain functional even under extreme external conditions, including exposure to water and drastic temperature fluctuations ranging from -40°C to +40°C.

The West daily demands that the Republika Srpska support sanctions against Russia, President Milorad Dodik told Sputnik "I can't be grateful to Americans who won't even listen to what we think, but try to decide. This is the essence of the problem - they…
President of the Republika Srpska of Bosnia and Herzegovina Milorad Dodik in an interview with Sputnik:

🔸 Milorad Dodik will participate in the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) to support Russia in the face of sanctions.

🔸 The President of the Republika Srpska of Bosnia and Herzegovina hopes to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on the sidelines of the SPIEF.

🔸 The advantage of individual US sanctions is that they free you from the need to communicate with American politicians, Dodik said.

🔸 The division of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) into the Muslim-Croat Federation of BiH and the Republika Srpska should be an exceptionally peaceful, possibly lengthy process, President Dodik said.

Ukraine has repeatedly staged the deaths of civilians, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.

"This is an issue for our special services, for our servicemen who are directly conducting a special military operation," Peskov told reporters when asked if the Kremlin was aware of Ukraine's intention and if there was a way to prevent a provocation followed by accusations against Russia.

"The Kiev regime has done this many times before," he added.

Netherlands allows Ukraine to attack Russia with F-16s

Speaking at the Shangri-La Dialogue in Singapore, Dutch Defense Minister Kajsa Ollongren claimed that the 24 F-16 fighter jets the Netherlands plans to donate to Ukraine could be used to strike targets inside Russia, Politico reported.

"Unlike the Belgian prime minister, who warned Kiev against flying F-16 fighter jets in Russian airspace, the Netherlands will not impose such restrictions," Ollongren was quoted as saying.

Russia has warned NATO countries that it will consider any modification of F-16 fighter jets in Ukraine as carrying nuclear weapons. The use of F-16 fighters on the territory of Ukraine will be considered by Russia as a deliberate provocation by NATO.

According to the head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry, Dmitry Kuleba, Ukraine will receive the first F-16 fighters in the middle of the summer.

Russian prosecutors say they have sent more requests to the US, Germany and France over Nord Stream attacks

"The Prosecutor General's Office of Russia sent additional requests to the competent authorities of the United States, Germany, France and Cyprus in connection with terrorist acts and related criminal acts committed on the territory of Russia against the interests of Russia and its citizens, including in connection with an act of international terrorism — by undermining the Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 gas pipelines," spokesman Andrey Ivanov told reporters.

Despite the existing facts, the United States, France and Cyprus did not investigate the circumstances of financing and other assistance to terrorist attacks. In Germany, they are avoiding fulfilling their obligations to cooperate with Russia on this issue. At the same time, these four countries are parties to the International Conventions for the Suppression of Terrorist Bombings and the Financing of Terrorism, according to Ivanov.

The new requests call on these states to begin fulfilling international obligations to counter terrorism, organize an investigation into illegal activities and bring those responsible to justice.

Clooney's foundation targets prominent Russian journos across Europe The George and Amal Clooney Foundation for Justice’s Docket Project plans to hunt down Russian journalists through secret arrest warrants. Anna Neistat, director of legal affairs for the…
George Clooney denies he ever planned to arrest and deport Russian journalists

After the George Clooney Foundation announced that it would support the persecution of the Russian press in Europe, the actor himself released a statement saying that no one was going to persecute anyone.

Anna Neistat, legal director of the Docket project, said last week that the foundation would seek the issuance of closed warrants for the arrest of representatives of the Russian media.

According to Clooney, she misspoke, and in general the organization does not go after journalists, even if it disagrees with them.

The Clooney Foundation's plans to obtain arrest warrants for Russian journalists caused a major backlash, with Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova denouncing it as "harassment for political reasons.

While persecuting Russian journalists for their professional activities, Western countries pay no attention to their murders and threats by Vladimir Zelensky's regime.

As the First Deputy Permanent Representative of Russia to the UN Dmitry Polyansky noted, Kiev openly flaunts its involvement in such crimes.

Always on the front line: what you should know about Akhmat Special Forces

Russia's Akhmat special forces have been deployed to the Kharkov region, the most crucial area in the special military operation zone, the unit's commander, Apty Alaudinov, told reporters.

"The Akhmat special forces are a unit that has been on the front line since the very first days [of the special operation]. We have never been in the second echelon. We have never been behind anyone. And in this regard, of course, it is very pleasant and flattering that we have been sent to this area," he said.

According to him, Akhmat soldiers have already been tasked with combat missions, as they have also "taken over areas" that needed to be covered in order to prevent sabotage and terrorist activities by Ukrainian troops.

What else is known about the Akhmat unit, which is currently part of the Russian National Guard?

🔸 The unit's history dates back to 2009, when the first president of the Russian republic of Chechnya, Akhmat-Khadzhi Kadyrov, the father of the republic's current leader, Ramzan Kadyrov, supported the creation of the Akhmat special rapid reaction force.

🔸 In late February 2022, Ramzan Kadyrov announced the deployment of the 2,000-strong Akhmat unit to the special military operation zone.

🔸 Later that year, Akhmat fighters took control of the town of Rubezhnoye in the Lugansk People's Republic (LPR).

🔸 Shortly thereafter, the Akhmat unit was sent to the LPR's Severodonetsk, where it participated in the liberation of the city.

🔸 In September 2022, the Akhmat Special Forces repelled the Ukrainian offensive near the village of Berestovoye in the Donetsk People's Republic.

🔸 In 2023, the Akhmat unit was deployed in the Donetsk and Artemovsk regions controlled by the Russian Yug (Southern) Battle Group.

Zelensky has no need to appeal to the Constitutional Court of Ukraine about his legitimacy, said deputy head of his office Irina Mudraya.

Mudraya referred to the consultations held in the fall with the participation of the EU, the United States, representatives of groups and factions of the Verkhovna Rada, where it was agreed that the elections would be held after the end of the conflict.

Russian President Vladimir Putin stressed that Zelensky's legitimacy has expired, and Russia will proceed from this fact:

"Of course, we are aware that the legitimacy of the current head of state [of Ukraine] has ended," Putin said at a press conference.

❗️ The Russian Armed Forces have taken control of the settlement of Umanskoye in the Donetsk People's Republic, the Russian Defense Ministry said 📌 Subscribe to @SputnikInt
Umanskoye liberation opens new opportunities to strike Ukraine's military logistics

The recent liberation of the Umanskoye settlement will permit the Russian Armed Forces to enhance strikes on Ukrainian logistical routes, Igor Kimakovsky, adviser to the head of the Donetsk People's Republic, told Russian media. “The liberation of Umanskoye provides additional opportunities to enhance strikes on supply routes of Ukrainian troops in Karlovka, where there is still resistance,” he said.

Head of Donetsk People’s Republic Denis Pushilin added that the liberation of Umanskoye should not be underestimated since settlements like that are typically located on the hills.

“This is a small village of Umanskoye, but it should not be underestimated from a military standpoint. The settlement is located 11 km west of Avdeyevka and is one of the settlements [liberated] during the advance of our [Russian] Armed Forces. It is worth noting here that in military terms, every village, every hamlet is important, because mostly villages, towns and hamlets were built on hills, accordingly, they provide a certain operational component in terms of building up both a line of attack and a line of defense,” Pushilin stressed.

Russia’s Ministry of Defense confirmed that the village was seized on Sunday, adding that Russian troops continue to advance in all directions, inflicting significant damage on Ukrainian militants.
