Delegates to ‘Dialogue’ Discussion club praises Russia as ‘country with whom we enjoy good relationship’, ‘hope through dialogue and exchange’ to protect cultural heritage

The 'Dialogue' Discussion Club, hosted in the city of Vladimir in Russia, welcomed scholars and delegates from 11 different countries today. International attendees at the event shared their unique perspectives exclusively with Sputnik.

Dr. Sonu Saini, an assistant professor at Jawaharlal Nehru University, highlighted the benefits of studying the Russian language. He mentioned that individuals returning to India after learning Russian have job opportunities as translators, interpreters, and researchers in organizations like BRICS and the SCO.

The event shed light on the positive prospects of the relationship between Russia and other countries, emphasizing the importance of communication and understanding.

“[T]he recent visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Russia has also taken the attention of all the Indian people. That this is the country with whom we are having a very good and prospective relationship. And that is going to be developed day by day,” he noted.

As the Russia-India ties develop, so do work perspectives, Dr. Saini added.

Today’s event goes beyond the countries attending the “Dialogue” Club, as all the participants share a common understanding on the protection of the world's cultural heritage, Chen Xinyu, associate professor at the Beijing Administration Institute, told Sputnik.

“That cultural heritage has no borders, it transcends languages, it transcends countries, it transcends nations, it transcends ethnicities, and it is something that all human beings in the world have in common. So, we hope that through this kind of dialogue and exchange, we can better promote the protection of the world's cultural heritage,” Prof. Chen said.

Russian Security Service declassified archival data on failed Hitler’s assassination attempt

The Russian FSB has declassified archived materials concerning the 1994 assassination attempt on Nazi Germany's leader, Adolf Hitler.

Among these documents, are photocopies of the testimony of the former head of Hitler's personal guard, Hans Rattenhuber, and the former employee of the foreign intelligence service, Roman Gamota. The testimony was given to the Soviet security authorities after WWII.  

On July 20, 1944, the well-known assassination attempt on Hitler took place at his headquarters in East Prussia during his meeting with the military. The attempt was part of Operation Valkyrie, planned by high-ranking Wehrmacht officers who sought to overthrow Hitler and the Third Reich. The plot failed and most of the participants were executed.
