⚡️ Biden accuses Trump of pursuing 'power over principle', calls Capitol riot 'armed insurrection'
❗️ US President Joe Biden accused his White House predecessor Donald Trump of creating a "web of lies" about the alleged election fraud to "pursue power over principle".

🗣 "One year ago, today, in this sacred place, democracy was simply attacked… Our Constitution faced the greatest of threats," Biden said.

According to the president, Trump was trying to "prevent the peaceful transfer of power" when he opposed the outcome of the 2020 presidential election.

🗣 “Even before the first ballot was cast, the former President was pre-emptively sowing doubt about the election results. He was just looking for an excuse, a pretext to cover for the truth. He's not just a former President. He's a defeated former President," Biden said.

📃 The chief executive of MyPillow, Mike Lindell, has filed a lawsuit to challenge the subpoena by the 6 January Capitol riot panel requesting his phone records.

“I wasn’t there on 6 January and yes they did subpoena my phone records but we filed a complaint for declaratory and injunctive relief against the 6 January committee and Verizon to completely invalidate this corrupt subpoena,” Lindell said in a text message to CNBC.

📌 Last month, CNBC reported that Lindell appeared to spend $25 million since Election Day in 2020 to support Donald Trump's claims about the alleged "election fraud".

Biden is working hard to try and deflect the incompetent job he is doing, and has done, on the horrible Afghanistan withdrawal (surrender), the Borders, COVID, Inflation, loss of Energy Independence, and much more. Everything he touches turns to failure. That’s what you get when you have a rigged Election.

Florida Governor @RonDeSantisChannel is outraged by comparisons of last year's Capitol riots to the 9/11 attacks.

🗣 "It's interesting how everything in our society becomes very politicized, and so today – honestly, I'm not going to watch any of it – you're going to see the D.C./ New York media, this is their Christmas, Jan. 6," DeSantis said.

🗣 "But let's just be clear here: When they try to act like this is something akin to the September 11 attacks, that is an insult to the people that were going into those buildings."

🚨 Border Patrol agents in the Rio Grande Valley Sector have nabbed two gang members and a migrant with a child sex crime conviction coming across the border as part of separate groups of migrants entering the U.S.

🎬 Twitter joins Instagram in copying TikTok’s reaction videos

Twitter has announced that it’s testing a feature called “quote tweet with reaction,” where you can embed a copy of a tweet into a photo or video instead of just replying to it with text.

While it’s relatively easy for the platform to moderate regular quote tweets, it’s harder to programmatically scan the contents of a photo or video. It’s also not clear whether you’ll be able to opt out from reaction tweets like you can with Twitter’s photo-tagging feature or limit who’s able to react to your tweets like you can with replies.

@TedCruzTX on @TuckerCarlsonOfficial Tonight publicly referred to the events of January 6 as a "violent terrorist attack."

🗣 "We are approaching a solemn anniversary this week and is anniversary of a violent terrorist attack on the capital where we saw the men and women of law enforcement demonstrate incredible courage incredible bravery, risk their lives to defend the men and women who serve in this capital."

Tucker mentioned that previously Cruz had described the events as a terrorist attack, though they, according to him, did not meet the definition.

🗣Well, Tucker thank you for having me on when you aired your episode last night I sent you a text shortly thereafter and said listen I'd like to go on because the way I phrased things yesterday it was sloppy and it was frankly dumb," Cruz responded.
