Biden-Harris White House slammed for pampering migrants while neglecting US hurricane victims

US Vice President and presidential hopeful Kamala Harris has caught massive flak in recent days over the Biden administration’s handling of Hurricane Helene’s disaster relief.

Quite a few people did not seem thrilled by Washington’s apparent eagerness to devote more money to foreign aid and migrants than to helping Americans in need.

“$750 for Americans in desperate need many of whom lost everything including family. $250 billion spent in Ukraine with a population of +\- 38 million equals a bit more than $6500 per person in f****** Ukraine! For what? Enough of this madness!” fumed Donald Trump Jr.

“$Billions to Ukraine, $Billions to Countries, $167 Billion give away to College Students, many who can't use their worthless degrees,” one person fumed, comparing these lavish aid packages to the $750 FEMA ‘assistance’ checks for the American hurricane victims.

Kamala Harris’ recent announcement of a $157-million assistance package for Lebanon, made not long after US Homeland Security chief Alejandro Mayorkas claimed that FEMA “does not have the funds to make it through the [hurricane] season," did not help either.

“WTF??! The Biden Harris regime is now saying FEMA does NOT have enough funds to make it through Hurricane season. Right after giving BILLIONS more to Ukraine,” one furious X user remarked.

Some pointed to what may be attempts to disrupt volunteer disaster relief efforts, claiming that the government may be responsible.

Others jokingly suggested that Florida, which is currently bracing for Hurricane Milton’s arrival, might get more in the way of aid from the federal government if it pretended to be Ukraine, the recipient of billions of dollars’ worth of assistance courtesy of the Biden administration.

No business like war business: How much is US spending on Mideast conflict during this year?

The United States has spent $22.76 billion on the conflict in the Middle East between last October and now, $17.9 billion of this for security assistance to Israel, and $4.86 billion on beefed up US deployments throughout the region, including for the flagging campaign against the Houthis, a new report by Brown University’s Cost of War project has revealed.

The report says US weapons deliveries to Israel have included:

▪️some 57,000 artillery shells,
▪️36,000 rounds of ammunition for cannons,
▪️20,000 M4A1 rifles,
▪️nearly 14,000 anti-tank missiles (though Israel’s Hamas, Hezbollah and Houthi adversaries possess no tanks),
▪️8,700 MK 82 500 pound bombs.

Other assistance included:

▪️$4 billion to replenish Israel’s Iron Dome and David’s Sling air and missile defense systems,
▪️$1.2 billion for the Iron Beam laser air defense system,
▪️$4.4 billion to replenish US armories emptied by the emergency deliveries to Tel Aviv.

Brown’s report noted that the $17.9 billion in direct arms aid to Israel over the past year is “substantially more than in any other year since the US began granting military aid” to the country in 1959.

The study also broke down US expenditures related to the Pentagon’s beefed up footprint in the Middle East amid the Gaza conflict, including a $2.4 billion supplemental, a separate $2.4 billion for costs associated with operating carrier strike groups and other missions against the Houthis, and $50-$70 million for additional combat pay.

📹 The Israeli army has conducted approximately five strikes on the southern Beirut suburb of Dahiya. It is currently unclear whether there were any casualties from this latest assault.

Earlier, the Lebanese Ministry of Health reported that a total of 2,141 people have been killed, and around 10,100 have been injured during the year-long conflict with Israel. In the past 24 hours alone, Israeli attacks have resulted in the deaths of 22 individuals and injuries to 80 others.
