🚫 Nancy Pelosi is working on a stock trading ban for lawmakers and senior congressional staff

Pelosi and House Democratic leaders reportedly want to amend the Stop Trading on Congressional Knowledge (STOCK) Act, a 2012 law designed to combat insider trading by requiring timely disclosure of stock transactions.

Senior Republicans, including House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, have also declared support for the reform, with McCarthy saying he would introduce a ban if Republicans win control of the House in November's midterms.

The ban is also expected to include new restrictions on investments for federal judges. Last month, Pelosi made it clear that she wanted to see the judiciary held to the same standard as Congress.

Biden will hold a call with the leaders of the UK, Germany, France, Italy, Poland, Canada, the EU and NATO on Friday to discuss Russia’s alleged troop buildup near Ukraine, Bloomberg reports.

The call will take place against the backdrop of Russia-Belarus military drills. The exercises are intended to provide training in preventing and combating external aggression, counteracting terrorism, and protecting the interests of the Union State, the two countries say.

Following collaborative and respectful discussions, the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) openly and willingly arranged with President Trump for the transport of boxes that contained letters, records, newspapers, magazines and various articles. Some of this information will someday be displayed in the Donald J. Trump Presidential Library for the public to view my Administration’s incredible accomplishments for the American People.

The media’s characterization of my relationship with NARA is Fake News. It was exactly the opposite! It was a great honor to work with NARA to help formally preserve the Trump Legacy.

The papers were given easily and without conflict and on a very friendly basis, which is different from the accounts being drawn up by the Fake News Media. In fact, it was viewed as routine and "no big deal." In actuality, I have been told I was under no obligation to give this material based on various legal rulings that have been made over the years. Crooked Hillary Clinton, as an example, deleted and acid washed 32,000 emails and never gave that to the government. Then, they took large amounts of furniture out of the White House. And Bill Clinton kept numerous audio recordings that the archives wanted, but were unsuccessful at getting after going to court. We won't even mention what is going on with the White House in the current, or various past administrations.

Also, another fake story, that I flushed papers and documents down a White House toilet, is categorically untrue and simply made up by a reporter in order to get publicity for a mostly fictitious book. The Democrats are just using this and the Unselect Committee of political hacks as a camoflauge for how horribly our Country is doing under the Biden Administration.

In the United States there has unfortunately become two legal standards, one for Republicans and one for Democrats. It should not be that way!

🇺🇸⭐️ US President Joe Biden has met with American singer Billie Eilish, and her brother and music partner Finneas O’Connell at the White House.

"When I heard my friends were in town for a show, I knew I had to invite them over to the White House. Great to see you and your family — and I’m glad you got to meet Commander," Biden said on Twitter.

⭐️ Billie is the youngest artist to provide the score for a James Bond movie - the latest in the franchise - for which she won a Golden Globe and is nominated in the upcoming Academy Awards.

⚡️US Sen. Bob Menendez, the author of “the mother of all sanctions” against Russia, says that Congressional talks on the bill “have hit an impasse.”

"I think we have hit an impasse. We came a long, long way together. But there are some things that are a bit challenging that our colleagues on the other side want ... Secondary sanctions ... on all Russian banks, the wording of how we deal with Nord Stream, those are just a couple of things," he told CNN.

📈 Biden puts focus on drug prices in fight against inflation

Unable to tame inflation that has worsened sharply under his watch, President Joe Biden stressed Thursday that his administration’s policies would cut prenoscription drug prices and make life more affordable for families.

Consumer prices jumped 7.5% over the year ending in January, as the sources of inflation have broadened on a monthly basis with increases in the costs of rent, electricity, clothes and household furnishing.

The president said he will “work like the devil” to bring down gas prices, noting that “everyone has less money in their pockets today because of high drug costs.” Biden has pledged that his policies will give family budgets some breathing room, and that while pharmaceutical companies should be able to make a profit, they cannot price drugs at levels that hurt people’s financial wellbeing.

🚙 States are getting the go-ahead to build a nationwide network of electric vehicle charging stations that would place new or upgraded ones every 50 miles (80 kilometers) along interstate highways as part of the Biden administration’s plan to spur widespread adoption of the zero-emission cars.

The administration on Thursday announced the availability of $5 billion in federal money to states over five years under President Joe Biden’s infrastructure law, sketching out a vision of seamless climate-friendly car travel from coast to coast.

💰 The money is far less than the $15 billion that Biden had envisioned to fulfill a campaign promise of 500,000 charging stations by 2030, and it may take substantial private investment to make the plan work.

🔥 Fatal fires in St. Louis, Baltimore expose vacant home risks

Thick smoke billowed from the vacant, crumbling St. Louis house, but Benjamin Polson knew that homeless people might be inside taking refuge from the January chill. So, the 33-year-old firefighter went in. It cost him his life.

Eleven days later, three Baltimore firefighters died when an abandoned row home collapsed. The same vacant house was the site of another fire seven years earlier that injured three firefighters.

Baltimore Mayor Brandon Scott directed every department to evaluate how to deal with the city’s 15,000 vacant homes. St. Louis fire leaders are doing an inventory of every vacant home so firefighters know what they’re getting into. The U.S. Census Bureau estimates there are more than 17 million vacant homes nationwide.
