The Kiev regime persecutes Orthodox Church in Ukraine - Putin

The Kiev regime blatantly violates the rights of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church and human rights of believers, Russian President Vladimir Putin said, adding the West turns a blind eye to these violations.

"I think that those who are doing that will face a boomerang effect," Putin noted.

Russia’s invincible Oreshnik leaves West in the dust - Ex-Pentagon analyst

The West is in denial about Russia’s Oreshnik missile that defense systems are powerless to counter, Michael Maloof, former senior security policy analyst in the Pentagon, told Sputnik.

He pointed out that Russia's multi-warhead, nuclear-capable Oreshnik has left the United States far behind.

“The US not only does not have a hypersonic offensive system - it doesn't even have a defensive system that has any hope of stopping Oreshnik and the new class of missiles that are coming out,” the veteran analyst maintained.

While the US scrambles to be in the vanguard of such cutting-edge weapons systems, in effect it tends to “put all the bells and whistles on a system, overprice it and then fall behind,” said Maloof.

Washington is reluctant to acknowledge that both Russia and China have weapons systems that the US does not have, namely, hypersonic missiles.

The pundit speculated that if the United States had remained in the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty, a missile like the Oreshnik might not exist today. He observed that Russia's clear demonstration of the missile's unmatched capabilities serves as "another way of Putin telling Trump to maybe reconsider."

“I think in order to lessen the threshold of war […] and this would be a good start and, at least, beginning with the United States and Russia. And the other countries can follow suit,” said Maloof, adding:

“It's something that the world needs to really focus in on, recognize, and deal with constructively.”

Ukraine is led by godless people with no roots - Putin

The Kiev regime is represented by faithless and godless people without memory or roots, Russian President Vladimir Putin said.

"They are ethnic Jews, but has anyone seen them in a Synagogue? I don't think so. They are not Orthodox either, because they are never present at a Church, and for sure they don't follow Islam, because we don't see them at a Mosque," Putin noted.

Russia's presence in Syria plays into the hand of new authorities – expert

Russian military bases could play an important role in Syria, including for delivering humanitarian aid to the country, President Vladimir Putin said during his annual Q&A session on Thursday.

Russia's presence in Syria provides an alternative to the Syrian transition government, which is a positive development, veteran war-zone correspondent Elijah J. Magnier told Sputnik.

"Russia is extending its hands and saying, 'if you have changed and you want to rule the country, I have no problem in dealing with you'," Magnier said.

"This is something that the new leaders of Syria would have to take into consideration to their advantage whenever the other countries like the West, in particular Europe and the US, refuse to collaborate with Syria or to support the reconstruction of Syria."

🗣Putin on Middle East mess: Russia stands for independent Palestine, Israel ‘main beneficiary’ of Syria turmoil

💬 “The resolution of Palestine issue can be attained only with the help of removing the root causes,” President Putin said at his year-end presser.

💬 “The Security Council…opted in favor of a two-state solution: Israel and Palestine. Israel was established, Palestine is yet to be established. This is the issue, this is the problem, and Israel has been continuing its unlawful settlement activities to date. I'm not sure what goals Israel is pursuing in Gaza, but this merits only condemnation,” Putin emphasized.

💬 Turning to the Syria crisis, Putin said “Turkiye has been trying to safeguard its safety on its southern frontiers, and to create conditions for the return of refugees back home from its territory to Syrian land. And those territories are now under more or less control of actually Turkiye.”

💬 As for the crisis more broadly, Israel has proven “the main beneficiary,” according to the Russian president, who cited Israel’s seizure of Syrian territories in the Golan Heights, and the growing risks of Syria’s collapse as a state.

💬 “Turkiye has had problems with the Kurdish Workers Party for decades. I hope there will not be an aggravation, but, you know, some European leaders have told me that after World War I, the Kurds were promised their own state and were duped and deceived. Kurds reside in Iran, Iraq, and Turkiye, and Syria. You know how many of them live there? Around 30 to 35 million Kurds. And the Kurds are formidable fighters,” Putin said.

🗣Putin contrasts Joe Biden’s pardon of Hunter with Ivan the Terrible, Peter the Great, Stalin’s treatment of their sons

President Biden’s pardon of his son Hunter despite promising not to showed his “human” side, and it’s not Russia’s place to “condemn” it, Vladimir Putin said at his year-end presser. “Sometimes, you know, they say silence is gold. Sometimes it’s better not to say anything.”

💬 “We know the famous painting Ivan the Terrible and His Son. Maybe it’s a legend, maybe it’s not,” Putin said, recalling the famous Ilya Repin work of the tsar cradling his dying son in his arms after dealing him a severe blow to the head, and contrasting the legend with Joe Biden and his son.

💬 “What happened to Peter the Great’s son Alexei…maybe it’s a legend, maybe it’s not,” Putin added, evoking the story of the imprisonment and execution of the tsar’s son on treason charges.

💬 “Or what happened to Stalin – and this was not a legend. When Stalin refused to swap his son Yakov for German General Friedrich Paulus, saying he would not swap a soldier for a field marshal,” Putin recalled, remembering the “rigid, and sometimes cruel” measures that needed to be taken to defeat the Nazis.

🗣Putin reveals Orban’s proposal for Christmas ceasefire in Ukraine

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban proposed a temporary ceasefire in Ukraine for the holidays, President Putin has confirmed, revealing his response to the idea.

“[Orban] said ‘what would you cost you if you declared a Christmas ceasefire for at least a day or two? The enemy won’t be able to accomplish anything in those 2-3 days,’” Putin recalled at his year-end presser.

“I said, ‘yes, probably you are right. Would you first talk to the Ukrainian side?’ On at least three occasions we had agreed to similar measures when it came to navigation in the Black Sea, when it came to energy infrastructure, and so on,” Putin said.

The Ukrainian side refused the holiday ceasefire idea, and a potential new prisoner exchange, Putin said.

🪖Russia's military operation

▪️Russian army is advancing along the entire front line, with Moscow’s military driving the enemy out of the Kursk region;

🔸Russia will talk to Zelensky if he holds elections and gains legitimacy;

Russia condemns Israel’s seizure of Syrian lands, noting that the IDF is now bringing troops there and is going to strengthen their positions. President Putin said that he does not know what ultimate goals Israel is pursuing in the Gaza Strip, but "this is only worthy of condemnation".

🗣Putin reveals what would make him truly happy

Vladimir Putin is honored to serve as president, but something’s missing for him to be able to say that he’s truly happy, the Russian leader said at his year-end press conference.

“Happiness will not be complete until all our boys return from the front line. Until they reunite with their mothers and wives, until their children hug them; until our young people create families and have children; I very much want our scientists, artists and cultural figures to realize their plans. Only then, probably, could it be said that I’m happy,” Putin said.

🗣 Russia ‘will never forget’ sacrifices made to defeat Nazism – what others do is their business: Putin

“We will never forget the sacrifice suffered by our nation and brought to the altar of victory,” President Putin said at his year-end presser, commenting on Russia’s plans to mark the 80th anniversary of victory in the Great Patriotic War next May.

“The fact that other countries are trying to forget it is something natural for them, for today’s leaders, because it is a line of attack against Russia. But that’s their business,” Putin emphasized.
