🚨 Iran to ABANDON current level of cooperation with IAEA if sanctions restored – Deputy FM

Iran will abandon the current level of cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) if Europe activates the mechanism to restore international sanctions against Tehran, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi said.

💬 “If Europe takes such a step [restoration of sanctions], the current trajectory of Iran’s cooperation with the IAEA will be interrupted, as further interaction with the agency will lose all meaning. In this case, European countries will also have to abandon negotiations with Iran, continuing discussions with members of the UN Security Council,” Gharibabadi said, as quoted by the ISNA news agency.

He added that European countries in fact have no grounds to activate the mechanism for restoring international sanctions against Iran. According to him, Tehran is ready to continue dialogue with the “E3” (UK, France, Germany) on the nuclear issue, but the decision lies with Europe. Gharibabadi stressed that Europe must choose: either the path of confrontation or the path of cooperation with Iran.

✍️📄 US TO PRESENT PLAN FOR UKRAINE SECURITY GUARANTEES — REPORT

The US is preparing to unveil a proposal for security guarantees for Ukraine — though many details still need to be agreed upon, including obtaining Russia’s consent for the deployment of foreign troops in Ukraine, the Financial Times writes.

💬 “A peace deal is still elusive, and any decision to implement security guarantees is a long way off,” the paper adds.

However, EU officials are “cautiously optimistic” that a key obstacle—the reluctance of Trump to provide support—has been overcome, the report says.

📍 Earlier, US President Donald Trump told Zelensky and European leaders that he would not compare any security guarantees Kiev might receive to those of NATO. He also assured that, during his presidency, no American troops would be deployed to Ukraine.

As Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov emphasized, any security guarantees for Ukraine must be based on a consensus that takes Moscow’s fundamental interests into account.
