💬 "The decision of the E3 [France, Germany and UK] will seriously undermine the current level of interaction and cooperation between Iran and the IAEA [International Atomic Energy Agency]. This follows earlier remarks by Deputy FM Kazem Gharibabadi, who warned that if Europe reactivates sanctions, “the current trajectory of Iran’s cooperation with the IAEA will be interrupted, as further interaction with the agency will lose all meaning.” He added that Europe has “no grounds” to trigger the mechanism.

💥 'Gangster band': Russia slams EU trio over anti-Iran sanctions

👉 Russia has expressed disappointment at the decision of the E3 (France, Germany, and the UK) to trigger the mechanism for restoring sanctions against Iran, Dmitry Polyansky, Russia's deputy permanent representative to the UN, told reporters.

💬 “This disappoints us, because we expected to deal with serious partners, but instead it looks like we’re dealing with some kind of gangster band,” Polyansky said.

🔸 He stressed that Moscow does not recognize any legal grounds for the “snapback” procedure which brought on the sanctions:

“For us, nothing is happening, because we do not recognize the legal basis for such a ‘snapback’.”

🔸 Polyansky also underlined that the E3 rushed ahead without using existing instruments:

“They have not exhausted the mechanisms foreseen by JCPOA, first and foremost, the dispute resolution mechanism. So we do not think that this move by these three countries should entail any action from the council.”

🔍🛍 US tariffs on India: Why they were imposed and what they accomplish

The US move to hit India over Russian oil isn’t about "ending the war" — it’s to strangle Europe with high energy costs and force India to stop undercutting NATO’s sanctions game, financial and geopolitical analyst Tom Luongo told Sputnik.

💬 “This is all about ending the EU having their sanctions cake and eating it too,” he said, stressing that Washington’s goal is to block India from selling oil to the EU.

Financial analyst Paul Goncharoff offers a different take, arguing that “these hucksterish Hollywood-style tariff events erode the value and trust in the US dollar and associated systems, both political and economic.” He believes the effect will be felt directly by US consumers, “in the eroding value of the USD in their pocket and the sudden increase in the cost of living, in spite of the loudly proclaimed ‘no effect on inflation’.”

In recent weeks, the US threw everything at New Delhi — tariffs, threats, and pressure over Russian oil. But PM Modi stood firm. Ties with Russia and China played a decisive role.

The US slammed unprecedented tariffs on India. Yet Russian crude still made up a third of India’s imports in early August. No orders to refiners to stop. The message was clear: India’s sovereignty is non-negotiable.

According to German media, Modi even declined four calls from Trump. Meanwhile, Indian refiners may actually increase Russian oil purchases in September.

Russian President Vladimir Putin will bring a “gift” to the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit in China—an agreement to supply Russian aircraft engines, Chinese outlet Sohu reports.
