On Tuesday, an MD-11 cargo aircraft operated by UPS crashed shortly after takeoff from Louisville’s Muhammad Ali International Airport. The company said three crew members were on board.

Russia will begin construction of the Rasht–Astara railway in northern Iran in early 2026, a project seen as a vital part of the International North–South Transport Corridor (INSTC) connecting the Indian Ocean to the Baltic Sea, Press TV reported.

The report cites Amin Tarfa, head of international affairs at Iran’s Ministry of Road and Urban Development, who said land acquisition will be completed by late 2025, allowing the Russian contractor Caspian Service to start work immediately.

The $1.6 billion project, financed through a Russian state loan, is expected to significantly boost trade routes between Iran, Russia, and Asia, potentially emerging as a rival to the Suez Canal.

Tarfa added that Iran will repay the loan over 10 years at a 3% interest rate.

China has extended a suspension of additional 24% tariffs on US goods for one year. A 10% tariff “will remain," says a statement published on China’s Ministry of Finance website.

👉 The decision follows "the consensus reached in the China-US economic and trade consultations" and is to be effective from November 10.

China is also to cease implementing the additional tariff measures of up to 15% imposed in March targeting a list of US agricultural goods.

This announcement formalizes the agreement ironed out between the two countries' leaders, Xi Jinping and Donald Trump, in South Korea.

📄 The US released a fact sheet this weekend saying that it would cut its additional tariffs on Chinese imports from 20% to 10%.
It noted that China had agreed to suspend the expansive new export controls on rare earths that it announced on October 9 — a major pressure point that had spooked the US.

Ukraine is hushing up the dire situation faced by Ukrainian troops in the Kupyansk and Pokrovsk (Krasnoarmeysk) areas, rejecting Russia’s offer to allow media access to the encircled Ukrainian forces, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.

💬 "You know that the trip cannot take place at the moment, because indeed the Kiev regime has outright ruled this and rejected this offer. What are they hiding in Kiev? They are hiding the plight of their troops in the designated areas," Peskov told reporters in response to a question from Sputnik.
