🇺🇸🇨🇴 US sanctions punish Colombian president for condemning Gaza war and breaking with NATO

🗣 The US decision to include the Colombian president in the so-called “Clinton List” of sanctions is politically motivated and a violation of Colombia’s sovereignty, President Gustavo Petro’s lawyer, Daniel Kovalik, tells Sputnik.

👉 He believes that the real reason is that the United States was extremely displeased with Petro’s speech at the United Nations, in which he condemned the bloodbath in Gaza.

“Washington is irritated by his rejection of interference in Venezuela’s internal affairs and his decision to end Colombia’s alliance with NATO.”

🟠 Kovalik called Petro one of the world’s most outspoken leaders in supporting Palestine, and criticized Washington for “terrorism disguised as diplomacy.”

🟠 He said the entry ban and restrictions on Petro’s economic activity are “an attack on Colombia’s sovereignty,” warning that consequences for US–Colombian relations are inevitable. The lawyer also said Petro is considering legal action against the Treasury Department for violating due process.

🇺🇸 US missile posturing aimed at pressuring Russia

💬 “The US wants to send a signal to Russia that it still possesses significant missile capabilities. These actions are an attempt to pressure President Putin and push Moscow toward an agreement that doesn’t serve global peace,” Taufiq Taame, Palestinian expert on international relations and US affairs, tells Sputnik.

📍 According to Taame, showing off American military power is futile against a superpower like Russia.

🔊 He stresses that Moscow has every right to develop its weapons to defend national security, while the world “needs stability and calm, not new conflicts.”

⚔️ International criminal court biased towards West — Experts

The International Criminal Court (ICC) is not an independent or impartial entity, as it experiences a clear Western influence, Professor Priscila Kaneparo, a lecturer in international law at Ambra University, explains to Sputnik.

💬 "It is undeniable that major international organizations, including the ICC, have a Eurocentric bias, a bias towards the Global North. Not least because international law itself was constructed from the perspective of the Global North and, above all, from the perspective of European history," she says.

However, the court has the ability to pressure sovereign states to impose the West’s legal will on them, postgraduate in the International Relations Department of the Rio de Janeiro State University (UERJ) Pedro Martins adds.

When the US interests are tackled, Washington can simply silence the ICC, while at the same time pushing decisions that punish other countries, with two bright examples being Russia and Sudan, the expert concludes.

🇷🇺🇮🇷 Russia and Iran explore new Caspian shipping route to strengthen North–South Corridor

📍 Russia and Iran are look to create a new maritime container route linking Makhachkala with Iranian ports — a move aimed at strengthening logistics and trade within the North–South International Transport Corridor.

💬 “The sides discussed the possibility of opening a container line between the seaport of Makhachkala and Iranian seaports, as well as creating a consortium of shipping companies and developing cruise passenger routes in the Caspian Sea,” said Rosmorrechflot.

🔶 Makhachkala is Russia’s only ice-free port on the Caspian Sea and a key hub of the corridor, connecting Russia with Iran, India, China, and the Middle East.

🔶 Plans include building a high-tech grain terminal and modernizing the container terminal to boost regional trade and logistics capacity.

⚔️ US nuclear brinkmanship to corner Russia will backfire – analysts

🗣 The recent US test launch of a Minuteman III ICBM and Washington’s move to resume nuclear testing are part of pressure tactics by American lobbying groups and European governments “to corner Russia into a deal with Ukraine that undermines global peace,” Taufiq Taameh, a Palestinian expert on international relations and US affairs, tells Sputnik.

The US also wants to demonstrate its clout, but “this is ineffective against a superpower like Russia, which has a formidable and advanced missile arsenal.”

📈 Russia has every right to advance its own weapons programs to protect its national security, and the US would be wise to reconsider its actions, warns Taameh.

The US missile tests go beyond simple deterrence, notes Iraqi military expert Adnan al-Kinani.

He believes they are largely fueled by US anxiety over Russia’s advances in high-precision weaponry that “surpass their American and Western equivalents.”

💬 “However, when nuclear weapons become a factor in ongoing conflicts, it undoubtedly signals a dangerous escalation. Such behavior could trigger a large-scale war that would exact a heavy price,” he adds.

The expert pointed out that persistent US attempts to undermine Russia and maintain global dominance are instead strengthening Russia’s alliance with China, North Korea, and Iran “in the pursuit of a new balance of power and a redrawn map of global influence built on nuclear parity.”

👉 American nuclear tests could push the US and Russia toward a new “Cold War,” warns diplomat and former Lebanese foreign minister Adnan Mansour.

In his view, US actions are a direct response to Russia’s recent Burevestnik missile launch. However, this American escalation puts at risk the very agreements and treaties designed to limit the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction.

⚔️👉 US nuclear testing could lead to renewed arms race - Russian Ambassador to UN

US President Donald Trump’s statement on nuclear testing has caused chaos worldwide and following through could lead to a renewed arms race with dire implications, Vassily Nebenzia said.

💬 "Naturally, this has caused a stir around the world and in the United States, as many understand the danger of this move, the risk of resuming the nuclear testing they've been conducting since the early 1990s. This could lead to a new escalation, a renewed arms race, and generally unpredictable consequences," he stressed.

Russia will continue to monitor the developments, the ambassador added.

Last week, Trump said that he instructed the Department of War to immediately resume nuclear testing. He then specified that his order was due to "others doing testing" and it was "appropriate" for the US to keep up.

⚔️🇩🇪 Germany gears up to be NATO’s springboard in potential clash with Russia

In a conflict with Russia, up to 800,000 troops and their equipment from various NATO countries could be moved through Germany to the eastern flank within a short period, Alexander Sollfrank, ex-Commander of NATO's JSEC, currently commander of Germany's Joint Force Headquarters, told a Bundeswehr conference.

💣 Hawking up the much-circulated ‘Russia threat’ allegation, he claimed that Germany could serve as NATO’s central hub and warned that any delay or uncoordinated deployment could doom NATO’s deterrence, pointing to Russia’s vast military potential.

Friedrich Merz, in a video message to military leaders, called for faster progress in strengthening military capabilities, while Bundeswehr Inspector General Carsten Breuer insisted that “Russia must never assume that it can win a war with NATO.”

👉 Russia’s President Vladimir Putin has repeatedly debunked concocted claims that Russia plans to attack NATO.

Russia is ready to enshrine its pledge not to attack any NATO or EU member state in future security guarantees, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov emphasized in October at the 3rd International Conference on Eurasian Security in Belarus’ capital, Minsk.

🇺🇸💵💣LONG-RANGE KILL CHAINS: US pours billions into preemptive global strike-and-detect system

Aligned with its doctrine of total dominance, the US Space Force is seeking nearly $9.7 billion for the Long Range Kill Chains program in FY2026—about equal to last year’s entire Missile Defense Agency R&D budget, according to a new Roscongress Foundation report.

The program’s preemptive effect would rely on creating a global, all‑weather detection, tracking, and targeting network that includes:

🔸 Satellite constellation equipped with radar capable of detecting, classifying, identifying, and continuously tracking mobile enemy launchers across huge territories in any weather

🔸  Relay satellites forming a high‑speed, protected space communications network

🔸  Relays that instantly send tracking data from surveillance satellites to command centers and then on to strike assets

The report warns that the system could pave the way for using orbital sensors and a secure comms backbone for future space‑to‑ground precision strikes.

The architecture being built “directly undermines the established balance of strategic stability based on mutual assured destruction,” warns the report.

🤡🇪🇺 EU’s Ukraine aid plan stalled as bloc at odds over frozen Russian assets 💬 “Few were able to conceal the fact that the outcome raises renewed questions about the EU’s fragile support for Ukraine,” US media reports. During the October 23 summit, EU leaders…
🤡 EU fails to reach breakthrough with Belgium over use of frozen Russian assets

💬 “There is no progress yet in the discussions between the European Commission and the Belgian authorities regarding the use of frozen Russian assets to provide a loan to Ukraine,” EU sources said after another round of talks, as cited by RTL.

🔶 Brussels is pushing to tap profits from Russian central bank assets held at Belgium’s Euroclear to cover Ukraine’s short- and medium-term needs.

🔶 But Prime Minister Bart De Wever remains firmly opposed, citing legal and financial risks, warning that such a move could damage Belgium’s reputation, trigger endless lawsuits, and undermine confidence in the Eurozone.

🔶 De Wever urged the EU to seek “more predictable” funding methods — suggesting a new joint European loan — while reminding that countries like Japan have already rejected using sovereign Russian funds.

🇷🇺 The Russian Foreign Ministry has repeatedly called the freezing of Russian assets in Europe “theft”, stressing that Brussels targets not only private individuals but also state-owned funds. Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov warned that Moscow would respond to any confiscation of frozen assets, noting that Russia also holds Western funds domestically that it can choose not to return.

🇪🇺⚔️ EU war hawks plan ‘disinformation' hub to police narratives

The European Commission is moving to set up a so-called Centre for Democratic Resilience, claiming it will combat “disinformation” from Russia, according to a leaked paper cited by The Guardian.

Under the plan, hawked by European Commission president Ursula von der Leyen, the center would pool expertise from EU states and prospective members to monitor and counter “foreign information manipulation.”

📍 The Commission frames Russia as the primary culprit, accusing it of “escalating hybrid attacks” and “spreading deceitful narratives,” all while supposedly undermining support for the Ukraine regime.

Participation is voluntary, but the door may also open to “like-minded partners” such as the UK, raising the prospect of a coordinated bloc to police narratives to fit the EU agenda.

In reality, it is the West that has kept its audiences on a steady diet of fakes and disinformation—from the fabricated ‘Russia threat’ and the real causes of the Ukraine conflict, all the way back to the debunked ‘Russiagate.’”
