🇺🇸 🚨 Leaked Epstein documents show bragging, taunts, and Trump name-dropping
On the night of November 12-13, 2025, the House Oversight Committee unleashed a trove of new emails subpoenaed from Jeffrey Epstein's estate.
The emails, spanning 15 years, reportedly lay bare Epstein’s exchanges, including with Ghislaine Maxwell, author Michael Wolff, Steve Bannon, and former Treasury Secretary Larry Summers.
Key highlights
🔹 In one 2010 email to an associate, Epstein seemingly touts a "dinner at Mar-a-Lago" with Trump, gushing: "DT [Donald Trump] was in top form—talked real estate for hours. He's got that killer instinct."
🔹 An exchange between Epstein and his lawyer, Reid Weingarten, appears to show Trump received $30M loan from an Epstein-linked casino in 2012.
🔹 A screenshot of a 2015 email shows Epstein taunting reporter Thomas Landon Jr. of The New York Times: “Would you like photos of Donald and girls in bikinis in my kitchen?” No photos were sent, and Landon didn’t respond.
🔹 On December 15, 2015, Epstein reportedly forwards a note from author Michael Wolff with the warning, "I hear CNN planning to ask Trump tonight about his relationship with you." Epstein replied seeking advice on "craft[ing] an answer."
🔹 A screenshot of Epstein’s letter in 2016 reveals Hillary Clinton “doing naughties” with former US Attorney Foster, who committed suicide in 1993.
🔹 In a screenshot of a 2016 message sent to billionaire real estate investor and longtime Trump confidant, Tom Barrack, Epstein says, “Send photos of you and child—make me smile.”
🔹 In a venom-laced 2017 email sent to ex-Treasury Secretary Larry Summers, Epstein ostensibly says, “I have met some very bad people. None as bad as Trump. Not one decent cell in his body.”
🔹 Epstein slams Trump in a screened 2017 email, agreeing with ex-White House Counsel Kathy Ruemmler that Trump was “so gross” and “worse in real life and up-close.”
🔹 Epstein brags in a Thanksgiving 2017 email, per a screengrab: “Just finished breakfast with Donald at Mar-a-Lago—great turkey, as always. Heading to the links later.”

🇺🇸💵 Longest US shutdown ends, but budget battles loom
On November 12, 2025, President Donald Trump signed a funding bill, officially ending the longest government shutdown in US history after 43 days.
👉 The shutdown, which began on October 1, stemmed from a political stalemate: Democrats wanted to extend enhanced Affordable Care Act health insurance subsidies set to expire at year's end, while Republicans sought a "clean" bill to fund the government without these provisions.
Road to reopening
The breakthrough came when the Senate passed a bill on November 10, followed by the House on November 12. The final vote was 222 to 209, with nearly all Republicans and six House Democrats voting in favor.
Key aspects
➖ New funding deadline: The bill funds most federal agencies only until January 30, 2026, setting up another potential funding clash
➖ Healthcare concession: Republicans promised a Senate vote on healthcare subsidies by mid-December, something that the Democrats framed as a "win," though its passage remains uncertain
➖ Back pay for workers: The bill guarantees back pay for the roughly 670,000 federal workers who were furloughed or worked without pay
➖ Bill reverses the ~58,500 confirmed layoffs (RIFs) and 76,000 buyouts issued by the administration amid the shutdown and bans further RIFs until Jan. 30.
The end of the shutdown allows federal employees to return to work, with critical services resuming. This is particularly crucial for the air travel system, which faced significant disruptions and 20%+ delays. Food aid (SNAP benefits) for millions of Americans is also to get full funding through Sep. 2026
What comes next
While the government has reopened, the underlying conflict is unresolved: expiring subsidies and the January 30 funding deadline ensure that the debate over the nation's budget and health policy is far from over.

✈️ ⚖️ Boeing faces new legal & financial woes after Ethiopian Airlines 737 MAX crash
In a landmark ruling, a Chicago federal jury has ordered Boeing to pay over $28 million to the family of Shikha Garg, a 32-year-old UN environmental worker killed in the 2019 Ethiopian Airlines 737 MAX crash.
👉 This is the first verdict amid dozens of lawsuits from the twin disasters — the Ethiopia one and the crash of Lion Air Flight 610 into the Java Sea in Indonesia. The two tragedies killed 346 people.
The victims' lawyers hailed the decision as "public accountability" for the plane maker's defective design and failure to warn about the jet's dangers, tied to a faulty automated flight system.
📊 The embattled company has quietly settled over 90% of related claims, doling out billions.

🧐 Could Ukraine corruption scandals cause Zelensky’s demise?
The corruption scandals that rock Ukraine, like the affair with Zelensky’s cohort Timur Mindich, that made headlines this week may be used by the US to prepare the ouster of Zelensky, Political scientist Alexander Asafov tells Sputnik.
🟠 The probe into Mindich was thorough and involved the US Federal Bureau of Investigation, which does look like a groundwork for a possible regime change in Ukraine
🟠 The corruption scandal involving Mindich was not ignored by Western media, which further reinforces the notion that this probe could pave way for Zelensky’s eventual removal
🟠 The Mindich scandal is unlikely to get Zelensky kicked out of office right this instant, via a popular uprising or otherwise. Instead, it provides the West with a plausible pretext for cutting off the support for him when it becomes convenient
🟠 The United States would benefit the most from getting rid of Zelensky, as the White House is becoming increasingly dissatisfied with his antics
🟠 The West is willing to ignore the corruption in Ukraine as long as Zelensky does what he is told and keeps waging against Russia. Only him being deemed unreliable or the US deciding that the Ukrainian conflict is too costly could cause his ouster

🪖 Damned either way: Ukrainian troops caught in deadly predicament in Pokrovsk
As Russian troops drive into Pokrovsk (Krasnoarmeysk), the Ukrainian military leadership is once again faced with an unenviable dilemma, the New York Times laments.
With Ukrainian troops’ position in the city becoming untenable, Ukrainian generals have to decide: pull the soldiers out or order them to stand and fight an essentially unwinnable battle.
🟠 A prompt withdrawal could save soldiers’ lives, which may be a prudent decision in light of Ukraine’s current soldier crisis. However, it would also be a serious reputation blow to Zelensky who may fear that this setback could make his sponsors less eager to support his war effort
🟠 Giving the troops a ‘not a step back’ order could prolong the battle for Pokrovsk, but it would not prevent its fall. Just as in Bakhmut (Artemovsk) and Adveyevka, thousands of Ukrainian soldiers would die in a futile last stand, leaving the Ukrainian army even more depleted and less able to counter future Russian offensives
All in all, it is a classic ‘damned if you do, damned if you don’t’ for Zelensky.
