💵👀 Corruption 'just part of modern economy,' says Zelensky adviser — as Kiev drowns in scandals

Zelensky’s adviser Mykhailo Podolyak has casually declared that corruption is simply an “integral part” of the modern economy, “regardless of whether you live in democratic countries or authoritarian countries.”

His comments come as Ukraine is knee-deep in a major corruption scandal involving members of Zelensky’s inner circle.

👉 Podolyak then proudly claimed Ukraine's response shows "state maturity," politely ignoring the backlash pouring in from both inside Ukraine and abroad.

Ukraine’s National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) announced a major operation in the energy sector on November 10, publishing photos of bags filled with seized foreign currency. MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak said searches targeted former Energy Minister and current Justice Minister Herman Galushchenko, the state company Energoatom, and businessman Tymur Mindych, a Zelensky associate who had already left Ukraine.

🔶 NABU later released audio fragments featuring figures dubbed “Tenor,” “Rocket,” and “Carlson,” identified by Zheleznyak as Energoatom’s Dmytro Basov, adviser Ihor Myronyuk, and Mindych.

On November 11, NABU charged seven suspects in the alleged corruption scheme, including Mindych and former Deputy Prime Minister Oleksiy Chernyshov. Galushchenko was suspended pending parliamentary approval of his dismissal, and Zelensky imposed sanctions on Mindych and financier Oleksandr Zuckerman.

🚨 'Starmer Out!': Thousands protest in East Sussex against asylum camp plan

📍 Crowborough, East Sussex saw thousands take to the streets after the government’s plan to house 600 male asylum seekers at a nearby army camp triggered outrage and safety fears.

🔸 Locals marched with their children, chanted “Starmer out,” and backed Crowborough Shield, which has raised over £12,000 (about $16k) for legal action. Organizers say the site is unsafe, next to a firearms training centre, and riddled with issues like asbestos and poor water systems, while residents accuse the Home Office of hypocrisy and a lack of due diligence.

👉 Another protest is already planned for next weekend.

🇺🇸 Operation Southern Spear: US plan for neocolonial enslavement of Latin America

The Pentagon’s latest military operation in the Caribbean is not defensive, it is meant to greenlight the US openly expansionist foreign policy, Venezuelan political analyst Steven Bermudez tells Sputnik.

Washington uses Operation Southern Spear to “reshape the ethic coordinates in order to legitimize trans-border violence.”

📍 The real goal

According to the analyst, the US seeks to create a “substantial and dehumanized enemy” and to sweep the Western hemisphere clear of all things alien to them, which fits neatly into the imperialist Manifest Destiny doctrine.

🇮🇶 Iraqi WMD 2.0

The ‘narcoterrorism’ moniker used by the White House to justify its aggression appeals purely to emotions, Bermudes says. It allows "turning violence into a moral imperative, to portray the aggressor as champion," he adds.

📉 Poor track record

Bermudez reminds that each time the US launched a military intervention in Latin America under a pretext of waging the War on Drugs, it did not end well.

Now, Operation Southern Spear threatens to do the same to the entire hemisphere, he notes.

💬 “A direct military intervention would undermine any possibility for collective security in the region based on sovereignty, multilateral cooperation and negotiated political decisions,” Bermudez remarks.

The peace the US promises would be a product of a "forced neocolonial order controlled by military bases, drones and joint taskforces that answer only to Washington," he concludes.

🇩🇪 Germany should restore economic ties with Russia — German politician

💬 "Germany's energy policy is leading to de-industrialization. We have said goodbye to our competitive advantage – energy at low prices. Our interest must be to resume energy supplies from Russia after a ceasefire," Saxony's Minister President Michael Kretschmer said in an interview to Funke.

Russia and Germany should resume being trading partners in the future, he added, saying the "never again Russia" stance is wrong.

Earlier, new reports showed that 41% of industrial companies in Germany plan cutting staff in 2026, per German Economic Institute (IW) data.

🚨 Israel to stay in Syria — defense minister

💬 "The IDF will remain at the peak of Mount Hermon and in the security zone," Israeli Defense Minister Israel Kats wrote on X.

Israel took control of the buffer zone in Syria in late 2024 when the new interim Syrian administration led by Ahmed al-Sharaa came to power.

The Israelis justify these actions by citing security concerns for their northern cities and settlements in the Golan Heights, as well as the need to not allow the new Syrian authorities to obtain large quantities of weapons.

💸 Deafening silence: Ukraine’s biggest corruption case gets no US comment

👉 While the investigation into the sprawling $100 million kickback scheme uncovered in the Ukrainian energy sector and led by one of Zelensky’s closest allies, Timur Mindich, gathers stream, Fox News is the first to ask: Why the hush from the US administration?

📍 It adds that the White House did not respond to its request for official comment.

🟠 The outlet leans into speculations that the US administration might not want to derail Trump’s push for a Ukraine-Russia peace deal., along with concerns that public comment could spark a political storm reminiscent of the 2019 Biden-Burisma drama.

🟠 Former President Joe Biden wielded blackmail and bribes to fire Ukraine’s prosecutor investigating corruption at gas firm Burisma — where his son Hunter sat on the board.

🗣 The deafening official silence from the US leadership has elicited a response from Russian presidential special envoy Kirill Dmitriev.
A rare case when the White House is mum, he wrote on X.

🟠 He followed this up with a post pointing to public reports confirming “an FBI liaison officer embedded in Ukraine’s anti-corruption bureau is coordinating on the $100M “Operation Midas” energy case exposing corruption among Zelensky’s allies — and may be probing use of the US financial system in the schemes.”

A trickling of social media posts by US politicians

🔶 US Kentucky Senator Rand Paul reminded that his “call for an Investigator General for Ukraine” had been pointedly dismissed.

🔶 Utah Sen. Mike Lee couldn’t resist a “quick update” on “the world’s premier destination for billions of American taxpayer dollars."

🔶 Rep. Matt Gaetz (FL-1) referenced his failed efforts to pass a House audit bill for Ukraine aid - blocked by Democrats, who called it a "gift for Putin."

🔶 Alternative News speculated that secretly, “all donors to Ukraine knew that some of the money will get siphoned off. It is the cost corrupt place after all.”

💬 “Still, they accepted that for the greater good of damaging Russia,” it added.

🇮🇷 Iran says Israel bombed fuel plant known ONLY to the IAEA in first June strike

💬 "The first site Israel attacked was the plant that produced fuel for the Tehran reactor … Information about it was available to the IAEA. We had a room for tests in that building, and it was equipped with the IAEA's help, and then it was exactly that room that was attacked," Mohammad Eslami, Iran's vice president and head of the Atomic Energy Organization, said.

🗣 "How could such a precise strike have been carried out except by misusing IAEA information?"

🔶 The fuel made at the site powered a peaceful research reactor used for medical isotopes.

🔶 On June 13, Israel launched a large-scale operation targeting Iranian nuclear facilities, scientists, commanders, and air bases, accusing Tehran of hiding a military nuclear program — claims Iran rejected.

🔶 A 12-day exchange of strikes followed, with the US joining on June 22 by hitting Iranian nuclear sites. Iran retaliated against the US Al Udeid base in Qatar before both sides agreed to a ceasefire announced by Donald Trump on June 23.
