በኢራን ዋና ከተማ ቴህራን በሁለት ሳምንት ውስጥ የመጠጥ ውሃ ሊጠፋ ይችላል ተብሏል።

በሃገሪቱ አጋጠመ በተባለ ታሪካዊ የድርቅ አደጋ የቴህራን ከተማ ዋነኛ የመጠጥ ውሃ ምንጭ በመጪዎቹ ሁለት ሳምንታት ውስጥ ሊደርቅ ይችላል ተብሏል።

አሚር ካቢር ግድብ የተባለው የከተማዋ የመጠጥ ውሃ ምንጭ በአሁኑ ጊዜ መያዝ የሚችለውን 8 በመቶ ውሃ ብቻ እንደያዘ ተገልጿል።

የያዘው ውሃም ቴህራንን ሊያጠጣ የሚችለው ለመጪዎቹ ሁለት ሳምንታት ብቻ መሆኑ ተነግሯል።

በኢራን ከአስርት አመታት በኋላ ከባዱ ድርቅ ተከስቷል ሲባል በቴህራን አካባቢም የእርጥበት መጠኑ በ100% ቀንሷል ተብሏል።

የ10 ሚሊየን ሰዎች መኖሪያ የሆነችው ቴህራን ነዋሪዎቿ በቀን 3 ሚሊየን ኪዩቢክ ሜትር ውሃ ይጠቀማሉ ተብሏል።

በተመሳሳይ የኢራን ጎረቤቷ ኢራቅ ከ1993 ወዲህ ከባዱን ድርቅ እያስተናገደች ሲሆን ሁለቱ ታዋቂ ወንዞች ኤፍራጥስ እና ጤግሮስም የውሃ መጠናቸው በ27% ቀንሷል።

በመላው አለም ከአየር ንብረት ለውጥ ጋር በተያያዘ የውሃ እጥረት እያጋጠመ ሲሆን ውሃን ከየትኛውም ጊዜ በላይ በጥንቃቄ መጠቀም የሚገባበት ጊዜ ስለመድረሱም የኢራንና ኢራቅ ሁኔታ ማሳያ ሆነዋል።
