Yesterday in Petrovsky - Ukrop kamikazi drone attacks one of our tanks driving back from front line positions, in the civilian part of Petrovsky District. Yes, legitimate target, but at least they missed. Still, the explosion damaged a popular store on the main road that we have shpped at many times.

This week in New York, as he listened to questions from reporters, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's reliable smile began to fade.
Unsurprisingly, nearly all the questions were about India and the shocking allegation made by Mr Trudeau earlier in the week: there was credible evidence the Indian government had participated in the extrajudicial killing of a Canadian citizen on Canadian soil.

Speaking slowly, carefully, the prime minister stuck closely to his talking points. "We're not looking to provoke or cause problems," he said. "We're standing up for the rules-based order."

🇮🇳In the public eye at least, Mr Trudeau has appeared to be left largely on his own as he goes toe to toe with India, one of the world's fastest-growing economies, with a population 35 times bigger than Canada's.
🇮🇳UK Foreign Secretary James Cleverly said his country took "very seriously the things that Canada are saying". Using nearly identical language, Australia said it was "deeply concerned" by the accusations.
But perhaps the most deafening silence came from Canada's southern neighbour, the United States. The two countries are close allies, but the US did not speak up with outrage on Canada's behalf.
When President Joe Biden publicly raised India this week, while speaking at the UN, it was not to condemn, but to praise the India for helping to establish a new economic pathway.

🇬🇧🇺🇦 The UK Ministry of Defense admitted that London could have supplied Ukraine with about 2,000 pieces of equipment containing toxic asbestos.
British weapons, including Challenger 2 tanks, Warrior infantry fighting vehicles and Bulldog armored personnel carriers, may contain potentially hazardous asbestos materials in their hulls.
It is noted that exposure to the material can cause severe cancer.

France will pull its military and diplomats from Niger after a successful coup by anti-French forces, President Emmanuel Macron said on Sunday. The move will see around 1,500 soldiers leave by the end of the year.
“France has decided to withdraw its ambassador. In the next hours our ambassador and several diplomats will return to France,” Macron told France 2 television on Sunday. “And we will put an end to our military cooperation with the Niger authorities,” he continued, adding that French troops would return home in “the months to come.”
Niger’s pro-French president, Mohamed Bazoum, was ousted in a military coup in July. Capitalizing on widespread public dissatisfaction with France’s decade-long anti-insurgent operation in the region, the coup leaders immediately suspended a military cooperation agreement with the French government and demanded that French troops leave the country.

I visited Varvarka, (St. Petersburg) at the memorial to the fallen leaders of the Wagner PMC. I put flowers.
I remember that after the murder of Vladlen Tatarsky, such a spontaneous memorial here on Varvarka was quickly removed. People were very upset and indignant then. Apparently, the authorities took that experience into account, and this memorial stands. We must pay tribute to the volunteers who keep watch - keeping order, putting flowers in buckets, lighting and renewing candles.
