Nepal Authorities Block Telegram Due to Rise in Fraud

The Nepal Telecommunications Authority (NTA) ordered the immediate blocking of the Telegram messenger within the country.

What is happening:
• An official notification of the block was immediately sent to all telecom operators.
• The block took effect immediately by order of the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Communications, and the Ministry of Home Affairs of Nepal.
• The decision was made after consultations with the police and the country's financial institutions.

Official reasons:
• A sharp increase in online fraud cases using Telegram.
• Detected cases of money laundering through the messenger.
• Hundreds of incidents recorded by the police: from fake job offers to cryptocurrency and financial scams.

US tech CEO suspended after Coldplay concert embrace goes viral

Plane crash into Milestone School: State mourning announced for 1 day

one-day state mourning has been declared for Tuesday, following the casualties due to the crash of a Bangladesh Air Force training aircraft on the campus of Milestone School and College in Uttara, Dhaka.

On this day, the national flag will be flown at half-mast at all government, semi-government, autonomous institutions, and educational institutions across the country.

The flag will also be flown at half-mast on all government and private buildings, as well as at Bangladeshi missions abroad.

Special prayers will be held at all places of worship across the country for the injured and deceased.

The new version of WhatsApp places the web interface of the communication app inside a web wrapper.

Whether it's right to call it “enshittification” — a term popularized to describe the gradual degradation of digital services — or simplification is a matter of debate. The shift to a web app makes it easier for WhatsApp to maintain a single code base that extends across platforms

Telegram's New Update is Coming

⦁ Gift Collections: You’ll be able to organize and manage digital gifts, with some limits on how many gifts can be sent to a user.
⦁ Premium-Only Gifts: Some special gifts will be exclusive to Premium subscribers.
⦁ Gift Limits: Each gift type might have its own send cap per user.
⦁ Profile Levels: There could soon be profile levels based on how many stars you spend (maybe for bragging rights?).
⦁ Age Verification: To satisfy UK laws, Telegram’s experimenting with age checks via photos (promising not to store them).
⦁ Flexible Premium: Looks like 2-year plans and maybe more flexible Premium options are on the way.
⦁ Translation Models: Old code for local translations got removed.

It is important to note that currently only mentions of these features have been found in the Telegram code, and they have not yet been officially announced, so the final version of the features may undergo some changes.
