Microsoft edges out Apple as world's most valuable company
Microsoft has overtaken Apple to become the world’s most valuable publicly traded company for the first time in more than two years, as worries over smartphone demand weigh on the iPhone-maker’s stock in recent weeks.
The US software giant rose 1 per cent to $US388.47 ($581) on Friday, ending with a market valuation of $US2.89 trillion ($4.32 trillion). Meanwhile, Apple gained 0.2 per cent and closed with a market capitalisation of $US2.87 trillion. It’s the first time since November 2021 that Microsoft has closed with a higher value than Apple.

Astrobotic reveals how things will end for its troubled Peregrine spacecraft
The Peregrine lunar lander will be unable to complete its mission, though the troubled spacecraft has nevertheless surprised many observers by continuing to fly way longer than expected.
Pittsburgh-based Astrobotic said on Sunday that it expects its spacecraft to burn up in Earth’s atmosphere in the coming days, bringing the troubled mission to a fiery close.
Peregrine marked the first attempt at putting an American lander on the moon since the final Apollo mission in 1972. It was also aimed at becoming the first private endeavor to achieve the feat.

Moreover, he clarified that Optimus wasn't operating autonomously during the demonstration. Musk assured that the ultimate goal is for Optimus to achieve full autonomy in its actions. However, he acknowledged that the showcased demo had certain artificial constraints, including a fixed-height table and a single article of clothing placed in a carefully arranged basket.
