Jeff Bezos sells roughly $2 billion of Amazon shares
Feb 10 (Reuters) - Amazon.com (AMZN.O), opens new tab founder Jeff Bezos sold around 12 million shares of the online retail and cloud services firm for roughly $2 billion, according to a company filing on Friday, soon after laying out a plan to sell his shares over the next year.
The sale took place on Wednesday and Thursday, the filings showed.
Last week, Amazon said that Bezos would sell up to 50 million shares in the firm.
The sale plan, which is subject to certain conditions, was adopted on Nov. 8, 2023, and would be completed by Jan. 31, 2025, according to the company's latest annual report.
Bezos, who stepped down as the company's chief executive and took over as executive chairman in 2021, founded Amazon as a bookseller in 1994.
He is currently the world's second richest person with a net worth of $200 billion, according to Bloomberg Billionaires Index.

Meet Goody-2, the AI too ethical to discuss literally anything
Every company or organization putting out an AI model has to make a decision on what, if any, boundaries to set on what it will and won’t discuss. Goody-2 takes this quest for ethics to an extreme by declining to talk about anything whatsoever.
The chatbot is clearly a satire of what some perceive as coddling by AI service providers, some of whom (but not all) can and do (but not always) err on the side of safety when a topic of conversation might lead the model into dangerous territory.
For instance, one may ask about the history of napalm quite safely, but asking how to make it at home will trigger safety mechanisms and the model will usually demur or offer a light scolding. Exactly what is and isn’t appropriate is up to the company, but increasingly also concerned governments.

Google CEO Sundar Pichai announced Friday that his company has logged 100 million subnoscriptions to Google One, its all-in-one subnoscription service that opens up additional storage for free services like Gmail, Drive, and Photos, as well as access to more features.
Hitting the milestone highlights the company’s efforts to move people away from its free plans, such as discontinuing unlimited Google Drive storage for photos. Google’s YouTube Premium service took nine years to get there, but it, too, recently hit 100 million subscribers, thanks to ad removal and extra features like music or high-quality streaming (and at the same time as YouTube made changes to crackdown on ad blockers).
