Leaker Evan Blass has offered another look at Lenovo’s transparent laptop concept ahead of its presumed unveiling at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona later this month. The new leaked press image shows two of the concept laptops on a desk, with one of the devices being visible through the transparent screen of another. Taken on their own, today’s gaming announcements from Microsoft might not seem all that earth-shattering. A handful of unspecified Xbox games are coming to rival platforms, the subscriber numbers for Game Pass have grown, Diablo IV will lead the rush of Activision Blizzard noscripts on Game Pass, and more hardware is on the way, including a powerful next-gen console and possibly a handheld. But they all point to a future that Microsoft hasn’t exactly been shy about: making Xbox into more than just a console.

The Nintendo Switch 2 will now reportedly arrive in 2025 instead of 2024
Several sources are reporting that the Switch’s successor will now launch in Q1 2025.
The Switch 2 rumor mill continues to grind. The original reporting on the Switch 2’s release date pegged it for a fall 2024 release in time for the holiday rush. Now, according to sources speaking to VGC, Nintendo is telling publishers the console’s release date is slated for Q1 2025.
And VGC isn’t the only one: a video from a Brazilian journalist and “similar whispers” reported by sources speaking to Eurogamer suggest the window has been pushed to Q1 2025 as well.
A release in early 2025 could see the Switch 2 (which is not the confirmed name of the console) launching at the same time of year as its predecessor, which arrived in March 2017. Two of VGC’s sources confirmed that they were developing Switch 2 games planned for early 2025.
The “later” release date would also give developers time to finish launch noscripts, one of which could be Metroid Prime 4. Announced in 2017, Metroid Prime 4 had its development rebooted in 2019 but hasn’t had an update in the five years since, with Polygon theorizing that Nintendo might be holding it for its new console.
Whenever it launches, the Switch 2 will have its work cut out for it, following a predecessor that has already become Nintendo’s bestselling console ever and outsold both its Sony and Microsoft console contemporaries.

The University of Nottingham has opened a virtual reality (VR) classroom equipped with 40 VR headsets to enhance engineering and design education.
Students can digitally explore and create products, deconstruct simulated engines, and run experiments in realistic environments. The technology aims to improve design skills, reduce mistakes, and enhance collaboration.
In addition to in-class use, 90 wireless headsets are available for students to borrow and continue their studies outside the classroom. The initiative also facilitates real-time collaboration between international campuses, connecting students globally for collaborative projects and design exercises.

Digital addictions are not currently recognised by the NHS or World Health Organization, so where can you turn when the scrolling takes over your life?
The BBC has spoken to three people in a 12-step programme for internet addicts.
"It was better than going outside, it was better than speaking to Mum and Dad, it was better than drawing."
In a small room in West Oxford Community Centre, 19-year-old Sophia describes her destructive, decade-long relationship with technology.
Born in a slum in East Asia, Sophia joined her parents in the UK as a young child. Her early years in Oxfordshire were lonely and she said her devices felt like friends.
She said: "I hadn't learnt English that well yet and I was alone and ostracised. It was this perfect thing, it could be anything I needed at that time, it could be comfort if I was lonely."
Aged 15 Sophia said she quit social media, but the compulsions did not abate.
With dreams of dragging her family out of poverty, she said she began bingeing for 16 hours a day on self-help content, watching more than 10,000 videos related to money-making and self-improvement.
"My relationships were a shambles. I have barely any memories to speak of from my teenage years, my academics suffered and I was suicidal," she said.
Maggie said the stress of a new job led her to longer and longer binges on video content
In 2023, Sophia sought help at Internet and Technology Addicts Anonymous (ITAA), a recovery programme based on the 12-step model used by Alcoholics Anonymous.
Formed in 2017, ITAA calls itself a "self-supporting community of individuals" where members from across the world help each other through one-on-one sponsorships, in-person meetings and online.
The types of digital addiction it deals with include social media, video streaming, online news, dating sites, pornography, gaming, online research.
There are only two in-person support groups in the UK - London and Oxford - with a third soon to form in Manchester.

OpenAI has completed a deal that values the artificial intelligence company at $80 billion or more, the New York Times reported on Friday, citing people with knowledge of the deal.
The company would sell existing shares in a so-called tender offer led by venture firm Thrive Capital, the report, opens new tab said.
Under the deal, employees will be able to cash out their shares of the company rather than a traditional funding round which would raise money for the business, the report added.
