Unlocking support has now ended for first-generation Mi Mix models, all handsets featuring Snapdragon 600 series or older chipsets, tablets from the fourth generation and earlier, and the full Max lineup. Users with pre-Redmi Note series devices are also affected by these restrictions.

⚠️ Which Xiaomi smartphones and tablets can no longer be unlocked?

As of August 2025, Xiaomi has officially discontinued bootloader unlocking for a significant number of its older smartphones and tablets. This shift follows the company’s new policy, implemented after August 5, 2025, and the decommissioning of legacy unlocking servers. Here’s what’s affected:

Xiaomi Devices No Longer Unlockable
Phones:

Mi Mix (Original model)

All models with Snapdragon 600 series or older chipsets

Max series (Mi Max, Mi Max 2, Mi Max 3)

Pre-Redmi Note smartphones

Redmi 6 series and earlier (Redmi 6, 5, 4, etc.)

Tablets:

Xiaomi tablets up to the 4th generation (i.e., Mi Pad 4 and earlier)

General Rule:

Any Xiaomi, Redmi, or POCO device that never officially received HyperOS support is now locked permanently—bootloader unlocking is no longer available for these.
