As of August 2025, Xiaomi has officially discontinued bootloader unlocking for a significant number of its older smartphones and tablets. This shift follows the company’s new policy, implemented after August 5, 2025, and the decommissioning of legacy unlocking servers. Here’s what’s affected:
Xiaomi Devices No Longer Unlockable
Phones:
Mi Mix (Original model)
All models with Snapdragon 600 series or older chipsets
Max series (Mi Max, Mi Max 2, Mi Max 3)
Pre-Redmi Note smartphones
Redmi 6 series and earlier (Redmi 6, 5, 4, etc.)
Tablets:
Xiaomi tablets up to the 4th generation (i.e., Mi Pad 4 and earlier)
General Rule:

OnePlus has adjusted the bootloader unlocking method with its devices with a in-depth testing program coming with ColorOS 16 in China
- For unlocking bootloader now, we need to join in-depth testing program through official channels.
For joining in-depth testing program there are some conditions also set :
- Smartphones should be running with ColorOS 16 and above.
- The account of the users should not have any violations
- No application record within 30 days
- Only Chinese variant of OnePlus smartphones.
- Other terms and conditions applied.
For previous ColorOS versions, bootloader unlocking is not affected.
