Sarla Aviation's ₹1,300Cr "Sky Factory" in Andhra Pradesh

Bengaluru-based Sarla Aviation has committed ₹1,300 crore to establish India's first giga-scale eVTOL (electric vertical take-off and landing) manufacturing hub in Anantapur, AP.

Key Highlights

* Project: A 500-acre "Sky Factory" at Thimmasamduram village.

* *Phase 1:* ₹330cr investment over 150 acres.
* *Phase 2:* Expansion to full 500 acres.

* Capacity: Targeted production of up to 1,000 aircraft annually.

* Facilities: Includes manufacturing (composites, powertrains, landing gear), testing infrastructure, and a dedicated 2km runway.

* Impact: Initial creation of ~180 jobs (direct/indirect) by 2027, aiming for urban air mobility operations in South India by ~2029.
