Samsung's One UI 8 for the Galaxy S25 Ultra has added a new feature—the adaptive lock screen clock. The principle is that when an object's outline is detected, the clock automatically extends or contracts to adapt to the shape. Actually, Samsung could have easily achieved a depth effect without the need for this elastic adjustment. But now you know why they didn’t—because this trend was pioneered by Apple. Samsung wants to create its own distinctive feature. While everyone else follows Apple’s lead with depth-effect clocks, Samsung opts for a transforming clock, deliberately choosing to stand out.
