Did you guys know you can actually use paid enterprise options on many tools by using student licenses? for example, figma have unveiled the new dev mode recently but its under the paid plan which will cost you $12permo per person! related to that, the github student dev pack gives you an organized way to unlock these tools by verifying your student status only once.

to apply for the github student dev pack, you need to obtain some sort of school email from your university (AAU and AASTU are supported, will share the steps to get your AAU email below!), set up two factor authentication and billing address (without payment info, just address and name is enough)

to first set up your AAU email,

As an AAU student, you already have a default Email made for you upon registration. you can activate your AAU Institutional Email by going to mail.google.com
then on the sign in page, put in your credientials based on the following format.

Email Format for Freshman Students: fname.Studentid@aau.edu.et (abebe.UGR-****-16@aau.edu.et)

Email Format for 2nd Year and Above Students: fname.lname-ug@aau.edu.et
(abebe.bekele-ug@aau.edu.et)

for initial password use your id (UGR/****/1*) AND MAKE SURE IT IS IN ALL CAPS! then set a new password of your own choice when it prompts you to do so.
once done, use those credientials to log in to your institution email, keep the credientials somewhere safe as it logs you out every 30 minutes!

then next go to your GitHub settings and set up 2FA (I recommend google authenticator but you can use your own authenticators if youre experienced) and add your institution email that we made in your list of emails and confirm it!

after that, go to github student dev pack and register, on the registration page, I recommend the webcam option to scan your school ID as it is the one most likely to work.
upon completing the process, they will get back to you in a couple days if accepted!
