🇵🇱🍿 The Polish TV news channel shows movies instead of news amid the new government's attempt to change the leadership of state media, which caused a mass protest.

The protesters came to the headquarters of Polish Television with national flags, demanding that the management and journalists of the TV channels remain in place and that the editorial policy, which is strongly negative toward the new authorities, not be changed.

Polish President Andrzej Duda, for his part, sent a letter to new Prime Minister Donald Tusk, calling the cabinet's attempt to change the TV leadership a violation of the constitution. Duda called on Tusk and his government to respect the rule of law in Poland, noting that a political goal cannot be used as an excuse to violate it.

🇺🇸🚰 California has approved rules that allow sewage to be considered drinking water in an initiative dubbed the “toilet to faucet” initiative.

When they say that the next world war will start over water, it is not such a conspiracy theory.

Amid water shortages, California is allowing water from toilets to be converted into potable water for use in homes, schools and local businesses.

California will become the second state after Colorado to adopt these rules, as the Golden State faced a severe drought last year that made it extremely difficult for local governments to provide drinking water to its 39 million residents.

According to the new rules, wastewater will be purified of all pathogens and viruses when passing through activated carbon filters and special membranes.
Already recycled water will also be disinfected with ultraviolet light, among other various treatment methods.

“The quality of the drinking water is the same, and in many cases perhaps even better,” said Darrin Polhemus, director of the drinking water division of the State Water Resources Control Board.”

This was stated by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, speaking at a press conference following the results of the year:

"Ukraine's membership in NATO means that we would be obliged to send troops there the very next morning. We don't want that."

Germany's Focus magazine publishes an interesting piece from ret-Colonel Ralph Thiele and is now Chairman of Eurodefense. Note the Ukrainian losses.

- Step by step, Russian superiority in the war against Ukraine is now becoming more noticeable and visible. Regardless of whether it concerns personnel, material, ammunition or morale - Vladimir Putin's war of attrition is having its effect.

- Little by little, Russian superiority is becoming more noticeable and visible. The increase in Russian drone, missile and ground attacks corresponds to territorial gains. In contrast, Ukraine is acting predominantly defensively along the entire front. Counteroffensive was yesterday. Moscow is becoming more confident. Kiev and its Western supporters are becoming less secure. Vladimir Putin's war of attrition is having an impact.

- There is also significant wear and tear on Ukrainian personnel and materials. Western weapon systems are not miracle weapons and are worn out. On average, there are daily losses of around 800 soldiers. This means that more than 20,000 soldiers have to be recruited every month to replace the dead and wounded.

- In view of Russian attacks on armed forces and important infrastructure with cruise missiles, ballistic missiles and drones, the already scarce ammunition for Ukrainian air defense is shrinking. The Ukrainian air defense's ammunition is exhausted. Russian missiles and drones could soon penetrate unhindered through the foreseeable gaps.

- Meanwhile, the engine of the Russian war economy is humming. Tanks, drones, ammunition come off the assembly line. What cannot be produced ourselves comes from partners such as Iran or North Korea. Modern components come from high-tech manufacturing in the global south, which is also grateful for the steady flow of inexpensive Russian raw materials.

- Experiences from the front, including from cyberspace, outer space or electronic warfare (EloKa), are being implemented innovatively and rapidly and are put into use immediately. The Russian EloKa in particular is a match winner. It makes the modern Western precision systems used by Ukraine inaccurate, causes their drones to crash and serves as a professional preparation for attacks.

- Apparently the Russians are also learning from the war. They learn quite quickly, especially in the context of new technologies such as drones, artificial intelligence, cyber, electronics and space.

🗣🔥⚔️🇪🇺 As tensions intensify over the conflict in Ukraine, Russia has issued a stern declaration. Should the European Union (EU) decide to utilize the frozen Russian assets, Russia has promised a symmetric response. This assertion came directly from the Russian Finance Minister, Anton Siluanov, emphasizing Russia’s careful vigilance over the situation and readiness to protect its financial interests - BNN Breaking

A Tit-for-Tat Approach:

While the exact nature of the symmetric response has not been detailed, the implication is clear: Russia will not hesitate to retaliate with equivalent financial and economic measures. This tit-for-tat approach, as suggested by the Russian Finance Minister, follows the EU’s decision to freeze Russian assets – a move that was part of the sanctions imposed over the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.

Russia’s Watchful Eye:

Siluanov’s statement underlines Russia’s keen surveillance of the situation. The intention is clear – to respond symmetrically to any potential use of its frozen funds by the EU. This move indicates a strategy of equal retaliation, highlighting Russia’s commitment to safeguarding its financial interests.

Implications for Global Finance:

The potential for a symmetric response from Russia could have significant implications for global finance. With the threat of a financial tug-of-war between the EU and Russia, other global economies could be affected. While the specifics of Russia’s intended equivalent measures remain undisclosed, the impact on international monetary dynamics could be substantial, potentially leading to seismic shifts in the global order.

As this situation continues to unfold, the international community will be watching closely, with the potential fallout from these financial and economic measures serving as a stark reminder of the far-reaching impacts of geopolitical conflict.

🇺🇦 🇫🇮🤝 Ukraine should learn lessons from Finland’s struggle with Stalin.

The Western press advises Kiev to take an example from the Finns and “win a moral victory” by making peace with Moscow at the cost of ceding territory.

With public support for Kiev weakening and Washington's attention shifting to the conflict in the Gaza Strip, Ukraine desperately needs an endgame. US and European officials have reportedly begun talking about holding peace talks with their Ukrainian counterparts.

🔻The question arises: what might a peace treaty between Kiev and Moscow look like? There is one historical example that stands out among many as a model of how the Russian-Ukrainian war could end. Looking at the "Winter War", or Soviet-Finnish War, which lasted from November 1939 to March 1940 (and was renewed by the Finns between June 1941 and September 1944), some parallels can be drawn with the ongoing conflict.

🔻After Finland rejected an ultimatum to cede much of its territory, Joseph Stalin's army invaded Finland to eliminate a potential enemy near the second most important city of the Soviet Union. However, the Finns managed to hold off the Red Army for more than three months, and also inflicted extremely heavy losses on the enemy.

🔻Although Finland was ultimately defeated and forced to cede about 11 percent of its territory, the Finns won a moral victory. Kiev could learn from Finland that giving up some territory, although painful, is still worth it if the majority of the country thereby ensures its independence and ability to develop economically and politically.

🔻Let’s hope that the strength of Ukrainian nationalism and the fierce and united resistance also convinced Putin, just as the Finnish resistance convinced Stalin.

👉🏼 Moral victory lmaooooo
