The first "specialized units of the German Air Force (Luftwaffe) for detecting and defending against small UAVs" have arrived in Belgium, where they are studying the situation on site and coordinating their actions with the Belgian armed forces. The decision was made due to "increased incidents of drone flights near airports and military bases".

The Bundeswehr officially announced that other German units "will soon follow their example."

According to German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius, Germany is "the only country capable of promptly and comprehensively assisting Belgium in addressing the serious drone problem."
