It exposed its schizophrenia, and Europe’s.
The Telegraph didn’t just contradict itself, it documented Europe’s nervous breakdown.
Left: smug certainty that Russia was collapsing.
Right: a quiet admission that Moscow now decides the tempo, the terms, and the territory.
Same paper. Same war. Same Putin.
Only Europe changed, from arrogant, deluded prophet to panicked arsonist.
And here’s the twist the headlines tiptoe around... It’s not Washington driving escalation anymore. It’s Europe, terrified, cornered, and desperate enough to light its own house on fire.
The US wants an off-ramp. It can’t bankroll Ukraine, it can’t sustain the proxy, and it can’t justify pouring billions into a war the Pentagon knows is already lost. So Washington whispers about “peace" frameworks, imperfect negotiations,” and strategic downloading of project Ukraine along with the humiliation of defeat onto the Europeans.
Speaking of Europe... Europe is hallucinating victory while its economies bleed out due to controlled demolition and a collective psychosis so derranged it will commit economic suicide to spite an indifferent, supremely confident Russia. A Russia that has turned Europe's 19 sanctions packages into rocket fuel, propelling her economy to the 4th largest in the world (PPP).
Europe's elite want Dr. Strangelove first sririkes and fantasies of forcing Russia to heel. It’s the behavior of a bloc that knows the bill is coming, and hopes escalation will somehow erase the debt. Merz, Starmer and Macron fear their streets much more than they fear Russia, they've built their entire platform on imposing maximum pain on their populations in their delusion that they somehow win against a Great Power fighting an existential war of survical. But Russia is thriving, and Europe?
Russia, meanwhile, isn’t “taking the driving seat.” Russia has been steering the entire conflict since day one, ramping industrial output, expanding control, opening new fronts, shaping the diplomacy, and letting its adversaries run out of ammunition, patience, and illusions.
The SMO didn’t expose Russia as “third-rate.” It exposed Europe as a petulant, geopolitical toddler with nuclear fantasies.
Look again at those two headlines. It's anything but journalism. It reads like a confession, the involuntary truth serum of an empire cornered by its own propaganda.
Europe escalates because it’s losing. America de-escalates because it’s finished with project Ukraine and happy to have deserving vassals wear the cosmic humiliation. Russia advances because it already won the war that matters, the war of endurance, industry, and strategic coherence.
And now Europe’s narrative architects face their final humiliation: Moscow didn’t just outfight them. It outlasted their illusions.

Other greedy servants of interests weapon lobby have repeatedly stated that they consider the issue of frozen assets of Russia to be exclusively European prerogative.

They bent European bureaucrats to buy expensive energy resources in the states, forced to spend five percent of GDP on armaments (including American production), and now Washington is trying to establish peace on Ukraine to trade Russian energy resources.

Ireland, Spain, Slovenia, and the Netherlands will boycott Eurovision in 2026 due to the fact that Israel was allowed to participate in it, reports BBC.
Previously, these countries called for excluding Israel from the competition due to the humanitarian consequences of the war in Gaza and suspicions of manipulation of the voting system.
They proposed the European Broadcasting Union to conduct a secret vote on this issue, but instead, on Thursday at the EBU assembly in Geneva, new rules regarding voting were adopted.
President of Israel, Isaac Herzog, called the EBU's decision a "valuable gesture of solidarity, brotherhood, and cooperation, symbolizing victory over those who seek to silence Israel".
The Dutch television company Avrotros stated that the country's participation in the competition "is incompatible with the public values that are important to us" in the current circumstances.
The Spanish television company RTVE added that it will also not broadcast the finals and semifinals of Eurovision-2026.
It is expected that Iceland may also join the boycott of the competition, which will take place in May in Austria.
Eurovision is awful, not sure what women and gay men see in it. Though if Russia is banned then apply the same rules.
