The Horry County Sheriff's Office, SC, announced the death of Capt. Kwame Livingston, he passed away Sunday night.
Capt. Livingston, or 'Liv,' as he was affectionately known, started at J. Reuben Long Detention Center when he was just 20 years old. He was too young to attend the Academy, so he worked in the kitchen.
"He cared about every officer here," said Capt. Michael Jernigan. "It didn't matter if you had been here 15 years or 15 days. When you put on the uniform, you became part of the family."
