Good morning Supreme Court nerds, the justices are set to begin this week first with orders from last Friday’s private conference, followed by arguments in one case today called Dept. of Agric. Rural Dev. v. Kirtz, Reginald, a case about governmental sovereign immunity and the department of agriculture. The justices begun oral argument at 10amET.

Good morning Supreme Court fans, it’s Election Day in some states but it’s gun day at the Supreme Court. Justices will convene to hear a controversial gun rights case about whether a law prohibiting individuals with domestic restraining orders from owning a gun violates the second amendment. The case is called United States V Rahimi and it’s the first of two (so far) tests to the strength of the second amendment so far this term. A decision in this case is likely by the end of June.

Good Wednesday morning Supreme Court enthusiasts, today is the final day of the November sitting and we are ending things with a veterans benefit issue. The case is called Rudisill v. McDonough, Sec. of VA and it has to do with the Montgomery bill! See you again in two weeks.

NEW: Here is the first and only decision today from the Supreme Court, it is a unanimous decision written by Justice Barrett, with Thomas and Jackson writing a concurring opinion.

Good morning folks, today is the final oral argument day of the year at the Supreme Court, today the justices will convene to hear one case called Muldrow v. St. Louis, which deals with employment discrimination.

NEW: The Supreme Court has granted one new case for oral argument this term, the case is called Harrow v. Dept. of Defense and it involves a jursidictional issue with respect to a 60-day deadline.
BREAKING: Supreme Court agrees to expedite process of a petition for writ of certiorari before judgment filed by Special Counsel Jack Smith in the criminal case against Former President Trump. The case deals with presidential immunity and how far it extends. This is NOT the Supreme Court granting the petition for writ.
CLARIFICATION: For those who are confused, the Supreme Court is essentially “fast tracking” the response process for this case. In normal circumstances, some cases could take four to six months of briefing back and forth before the Justices address whether to take them up at their private conference.
NEW: Supreme Court agrees to take up six new cases (with two consolidated) including the case about the abortion pill “Mifepristone”.

ADDITION: The Supreme Court also agreed to hear a case on appeal from a January 6 defendant charged with obstruction of a congressional proceeding. The outcome of the case could have serious implications on former President Trump’s criminal charges in DC.

BREAKING: Supreme Court REJECTS Jack Smith’s request for an expedited hearing on the issue of presidential immunity, allowing the DC Circuit Court to hear the case first.

NEW. The Colorado Republican Party has filed an appeal to the United States Supreme Court, challenging the Colorado Supreme Court ruling which declared former President Trump ineligible to be placed on the Colorado primary ballot for an alleged violation of the 14th amendment. The ruling of the CO SC is stayed pending consideration from the Court.

BREAKING: The Biden administration has asked the Supreme Court to lift an injunction imposed by the fifth Circuit on a district court ruling that barred Texas from using wires barriers along the Southern Border in an attempt to prevent illegal border crossings.

NEW: Former President Trump has officially appealed the ruling of the Colorado Supreme Court to the United States Supreme Court. Trump asks the justices to consider overturning the decision of the Colorado High Court. This comes a week after the Colorado GOP submitted their appeal to the Supreme Court asking to the justices to do the same.
