BREAKING: The Supreme Court ALLOWS new gun measures instituted in New York to continue, affirming an appeals-court ruling that allows New York to keep enforcing new gun-control measures while a legal challenge proceeds. There are no recorded dissents, Justice Alto, with whom Justice Thomas joined, wrote a statement with respect to the denial. The decision was not based on the merits of the case.

Reminder: “dismissed as improvidently granted” is essentially the Supreme Court’s way of saying “oops, we shouldn’t have taken up the case, we take it back”.
Supreme Court returns for oral arguments next week, in the meantime, they’ve released their full term calendar for the rest of the 2022-2023 oral argument sitting. April 26th is the last day of oral arguments for the term.

It’s Tuesday morning at the Supreme Court, and it’s an argument day. Today the Court will hear a case challenging certain aspects of section 230 of the Communications Decency Act of 1996, which includes company immunity.
In a case called 21-1333 GONZALEZ V. GOOGLE LLC, the Court will answer the following question: “Does section 230(c)(l) immunize interactive computer services when they make targeted recommendations of information provided by another information content provider, or only limit the liability of interactive computer services when they engage in traditional editorial functions (such as deciding whether to display or withdraw) with regard to such information?”
