Most people make Vitamin D from exposing their uncovered skin to the UVB Rays in sunlight.
People with dark skin, the elderly, obese, those taking cholesterol lowering medications will struggle to make Vitamin D from sunlight in the parts of the world with low UV levels.
Vitamin D is essential for a good immune system. Most people that died from COVID were found to have very low levels of Vitamin D
