People think the negotiations are trying to persuade the Iranian Regime to give up ballistic missiles & nuclear weapons. That is not the case. The goal is multifaceted:
1. Put Iran publicly on the record refusing to stop pursuing a nuclear bomb.
2. Give time for the ISR assets in the gulf to fully map out the Iranian Regime’s personnel nexus & their telecommunications nexus.
3. The US is using the negotiations to show Iran isn’t negotiating in good faith, showing an attack is necessary.
4. The negotiations by time for the US to fully assemble assets & make final planning complete.

Why did Adolph Hitler believe he could take all of Europe & starve & bomb Britain into surrender? Because his favorite sycophant, Herman Goering told him he could accomplish it.
