Last I checked state legislatures have the plenary authority to audit elections and Republicans have control of the legislative branch in 30 states including the swing states of; Georgia, Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania.

If the majority of Republicans and more than half of the country believes that their was significant fraud involved in the 2020 election, why aren't more Republican state legislatures doing forensic audits of their elections❓

The smoking gun in the drop box story, imo, is not necessarily the fact that Fulton County et al didn't have proper records. The most important part is that the SOS office early on is on the record saying they didn't check, that it was up to the counties. They didn't do due diligence in this crazy election, KNOWING Fulton County always has fraud. Instead they went on TV constantly saying everything was wonderful. And Gabriel Sterling said in a news conference, on the day of the Senate hearing, that the people testifying were buying into Iranian disinformation... think about that.
