They even asked for information about what it WAS because they were unaware. Ultimately and very early on it was concluded that "no reasonable prosecutor" would be able to successfully prosecute. That didn't stop them from using it as a predicate MONTHS later.

These warrants were part of a FOIA lawsuit by several media outlets. Once they obtained the warrants, they never published a thing about them. We speculate on a few reasons why in the column. It's a well-established fact at this point that Steele didn't have '20 sources' for his claims about Donald Trump, Vladimir Putin and Alfa Bank; he had one main source, Igor Danchenko.

And it sees to me that Danchenko wasn't the source of the Alfa Bank claims; that was Rodney Joffe and his team.

A lot of cross-pollination went on between Fusion GPS and Perkins Coie when it came to the construction of the Alfa Bank and Steele Dossier hoaxes.
