Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva met with Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in Abu Dhabi to strengthen trade, investment and strategic cooperation between Brazil and the United Arab Emirates.

The leaders reviewed progress in economic and development ties, explored joint work in trade, technology, renewable energy and sustainable growth, and discussed finalizing a Comprehensive Economic Partnership with Mercosur.

They also exchanged views on regional and global issues, reaffirming shared commitment to peace, stability and long‑term cooperation. Talks highlighted more than five decades of strategic relations and future opportunities for both nations.

🌍 GLOBAL UPDATE: Narendra Modi begins 2-day Israel visit; Western Wall bill advances

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Israel for a two-day visit that includes an address to the Knesset. He was welcomed at Ben Gurion Airport by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who described their relationship as a “real friendship” during a private meeting ahead of Modi’s speech in Jerusalem.

Separately, Israeli lawmakers voted 56-47 in a preliminary reading to advance a bill granting the Chief Rabbinate full control over prayer arrangements at the Western Wall, including the Ezrat Israel egalitarian section. Critics say the legislation would effectively criminalize non-Orthodox worship at the site, while supporters argue it preserves long-standing religious practices.
