Ukrainians are retreating from the eastern part of Bakhmut (Artemovsk). They blew up the last bridge, which is located a kilometer from the recently occupied by musicians Artyomovsk champagne factory and connects the eastern and central parts of the city.
Apparently, the opponents are preparing to hold the centre. Also, news comes from the Artemovsky direction about the capture of the settlement of Zhovanka.

From the novel (ch. 34) "The Twelve Chairs" (1928) by Soviet writers Ilya Ilf (1897-1937) and Evgeny Petrov (1903-1942). The text of the slogan that was posted in the hall of the Cardboarder club in the city of Vasyuki, where Ostap Bender gave local chess lovers a session of simultaneous play on 160 boards.
In the original: The work of helping the drowning is the work of the drowning themselves.
The phrase is an actual parody of the famous words of Karl Marx, often quoted by the Soviet propaganda of those years: "The liberation of the workers must be the work of the workers themselves."
Allegorically: everyone must solve their problems on their own or together with their comrades in misfortune.
