The mind needs an anchor point. But all of our anchor points are WRONG.
We perceive everything through the lens of what we have already learned. We “know” that the table in front of us is a table and is used for placing things upon because that is what we know from the past. We “know” that the pen we hold is full of ink and used for writing because that is what we learned about it in the past. We know that the body we inhabit has certain quirks, injuries, and skills because that is what we “know” about it from past experience. Seems normal, right? But . . . what if, in doing that, in judging everything based on what we already “know” about it, we are living in the past and eliminating every other potentiality that exists for that object (read: bit of energy). All things are made of the same stuff after all. Including YOU.
What if it could be ANYTHING? What if your creative mind is holding that thing right there as it is because you believe it must be exactly as it was before? What if YOU’RE doing that? What if YOU’RE making it into what it is in front of your eyes?
Can you give your mind a new anchor point? Something amazing, something “unbelievable”? We’ve all heard stories about how people do astounding things at certain times. For instance, the man who lifts a car off his child in an emergency, or the spontaneous healing of a dreaded disease. Do we agree that these things happen? That they CAN happen? And if we do, how do you explain these occurrences? Were they miracles? Was it God? Was it some kind of adrenaline rush that is totally explainable by chemistry and science?
Now before I get too far into this, let me just say that I, personally, give all glory to God. The God that I believe in is inexplicable. Boundless. Formless. Detail-less. For to give Him details would make Him in some way humanized and put Him into our own terms. This is not actually possible and is detrimental to understanding the nature of what I am talking about. So as you read, please keep in mind what I have said. God is all things. God has made all things. God is the Source of all things. Including all things I will speak of here.
The brain tries to explain everything. Especially the brain conditioned by the world we live in. It takes miracles and turns them into flukes. Into coincidences. Into things that are inexplicable and therefore should be generally ignored in the greater realm of rationality. What a horrifying practice we engage in! Miracles happen all the time and we explain them away so that we don’t have to reconcile what we see.
When my eldest son was about 2, we took him deep into the redwood forests of California to go for a hike. No sooner had we parked the car and gotten him out of his carseat, did he take a tumble and split his lip wide open. It was pretty bad and I was realizing the distance we were from any medical help when I decided to fix it . . . because I had to. I sent all the healing God-source energy I could muster to his little mouth and the giant cut that was bleeding all over the place.
“Heal this.”
I meant it.
I held him for a moment and then leaned him back to take a look.
The cut was gone. Not just closed up and looking promising. It was gone.
Pause a moment and observe your reaction to what I’ve just told you.
What are you doing with that information? Telling yourself that “children’s mouths heal really fast”? “It probably wasn’t as bad as it seemed”? “She imagined it. It was traumatic and she probably made a bigger deal out of it than it was”?
Any of that go through your head?
Yup. Prolly.
And do you want to know a secret? Even I have to remind myself that that HAPPENED. My own mind tries to dismiss it even now. Even though I KNOW it happened. Even though my husband was there and witnessed it, too. My experience of how I believe an injury like that will play out based on my past experience determines what my belief is in the present.

In order to do this, we must first Love ourselves, completely and unconditionally. Then, it is so much easier to see the Divine in others and to forgive them their “trespasses” because we understand it is their feeling of separation from God that is causing their actions. It’s their ego at play and it has nothing to do with you.
See it for what it is and let it go.
Your Heart is the gateway to the Aeternal and the bridge between Heaven and Earth.

What you’ve been taught dictates what you believe will happen in any given circumstance.
When you drop a pen, you believe it will fall, because that’s what it has always done.
When you boil water, you believe it will take a certain amount of time to reach temperature.
When you cut yourself, you believe it will hurt.
Etc, etc.
But what most of us don’t realize is that we are creating that experience in that moment. It’s a new moment and yet we treat it as if it were a repeat of the others.
We create what we believe.
The trick is getting at our beliefs. The thoughts behind our thoughts.
This is the truth.
Maybe you’re ready to hear it, maybe you’re not, but it’s true nonetheless.

The clincher is, what EXACTLY do you Believe?
It’s not just a matter of telling yourself something. It’s not even about knowledge of information (although that helps). It’s about your Deep Innerstanding of what is possible.
You can know all day long that monks in Tibet are able to levitate or that it’s possible to move things with your mind. You can understand with your brain that you are limitless. But how do you get at what you actually believe about what you can do?
This is why your conditioning is so effective and so complete.
For you to actually Believe that you can float, fly or manipulate matter you have to unravel ALL of the millions of times you’ve witnessed and proven to yourself that those things are not possible. The entire world around you LIMITS YOU by teaching you what to think and what to perceive. The things that don’t fit that paradigm are automatically filtered out…by you.
See, it’s not that easy to undo the conditioning. You can know about it, but it takes time and NEW, CREATIVE EXPERIENCES to begin to undo it. It helps to observe other people breaking boundaries. It helps to understand that you’ve been tricked and caged. But you STILL have to get at those underlying Beliefs. The thought behind the thought, behind the thought.
You have so much more than you know.
